Guest divey Posted July 5, 2015 #1 Posted July 5, 2015 (edited) Made it home yesterday afternoon from an extended return trip from VW 2015. Thanks once again to Nanci and Victor for all their hard work on putting the event together, lining up the rides, organizing the meals and pie runs, etc. It was truly a memorable event and it was great to meet again with members from last year's event plus some new ones I hadn't met before. Highlights - 12 days and 6000 kilometres (3700 miles) of amazing scenery across 8 States and 2 Provinces - Flawless performance from my 07 Venture averaging 46 miles per gallon (Imperial) - Great roads for riding everywhere - Beartooth Pass should be on every rider's bucket list - American restaurants and hotels are genuinely happy for your business and treat you accordingly Not So Much Highlights - Turn down the thermostat about 10 degrees or so will ya! The first 8 days of riding were over 100 degrees and I'm an ATGATT guy. Nanci the cooling vest was a saviour! - The sun beats down AND the wind blows across the desert all at the same time! - Salt Lake City morning rush hour is one big hurry - M/C advisory signs for road construction in Montana should be heeded. 2 stretches each of 5 miles of loose gravel and grooved hardpack made for some white knuckle riding Thanks to @cowpuc @utadventure and @Zzyzx for your helpful advice on traversing the desert area. Hopefully the pictures will load okay. Doug Edited July 7, 2015 by divey
