Great White Posted August 21, 2015 #26 Posted August 21, 2015 Hmm..even Momma Yamaha says you should get more if I remember the ads correctly. Diaphrams, plugs, wires, carbs...then wrap your right wrist with ten pounds of tape and go ride... grins... Something to think about this winter... david Checked, New NGK iridiums, wires checked and metered, new NGK plug caps, carbs sync'd but not torn down and ultrasounded. Plugs show a nice stoich burn with a nice light tan color. It's either my riding style or this bike is just a gas pig....:dunno:
videoarizona Posted August 21, 2015 #27 Posted August 21, 2015 You may be right...All my Dodge vans were like that. Up hill, down hill, empty or loaded...always got 10mpg! Geesh. Well..you will figure it out. I gotta check my diaphrams. Mine are probably original on the 89 as the security screws are still in the carbs! My mpg's are going down..used to be 42 now around 39. Bet that's my problem....
videoarizona Posted August 21, 2015 #28 Posted August 21, 2015 GW, Thinking of you. These people tour North America a lot...they were in your neck of the woods a few days ago... http://www.ridestopngo.com/blog/part-6-worlds-longest-motorcycle-demo-ride/?utm_source=Ride+Stop+n+Go+Motorcycle+Travel&utm_campaign=0b2ac4e18c-RSNG_Blog_Broadcast&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_f5214dd3e4-0b2ac4e18c-114888649
dogman Posted August 21, 2015 #29 Posted August 21, 2015 millage sure is dependent on your riding, but if I am commuting to work, I'm a little more consistent and all highway. I get 200 miles then have to fill up. Not sure when the light comes on exactly, but any where from 150 to 170 miles. I put in approx 20litres, which is about 5 gallons.
