Beach Bum Posted June 26, 2015 #1 Posted June 26, 2015 (edited) Here she is in all her glory. I fabricated the straight mounts out of 1/8 flatbar. I removed and installed the shields from the OE exhaust for a more finished look. Love the sound. Edited June 26, 2015 by Beach Bum
StarFan Posted June 26, 2015 #2 Posted June 26, 2015 Great job. These look very nice to say the least. A sound file would be apreciated ! Put Vance and Hines Monster Ovals on my Red Baron 2000 model Venture and simply love this low bass rumble. Sounds like a small V8. How do your Super Glides sound ? Be safe, Jonas / starFan
Beach Bum Posted June 26, 2015 Author #3 Posted June 26, 2015 They're actually Street Glides- I can never keep up with Harley nomenclature. They sound great, especially with some (or a lot of) throttle. If I can figure out how to get a good sound file I'll post for sure. Good bark and decent bass without being obtrusive.
StarFan Posted June 26, 2015 #4 Posted June 26, 2015 Good bark and decent bass without being obtrusive. Name of the game - No sense having pipes that irritates you because of being to loud and makes you tired on longer rides. Sorry - My mind gets all messed up when dealing with Harley names and letters. One needs a Bachelor degree to break the Harley codes and names ! Congrats - What a great job you did sir. videoarizona Posted June 27, 2015 #5 Posted June 27, 2015 That's the way mine are mounted. solid as a rock and easy to remove when needed! Good job... david
Wrench Posted June 27, 2015 #6 Posted June 27, 2015 Did you drill or holesaw the baffles? I had a set on my '04 and really liked the looks of the bigger muffler body. I holesawed mine and they sounded really good, just not nearly as good or loud as the Bub's.
Beach Bum Posted June 27, 2015 Author #7 Posted June 27, 2015 Left them bone stock. I want to be able to hear the radio over my exhaust. I also don't want to have to mess with jetting due to opening up the pipes too much. Besides, compared to the OE exhaust, these are frikkin raucous.
