star13pa Posted June 21, 2015 #1 Posted June 21, 2015 new to the forum so first I like to start off saying hey to everybody went to go for a ride yesterday start the bike up and after it warms up start hearing a noise coming from the front of the bike sounds like a baring going bad and I here the fan running and when the fan stops the noise goes away fan starts back up noise comes back. I go to order part none in states have to come from Japan talking at lease 5 days to make it to the states, planning a trip up the Delaware Water Gap and up state New York this fourth of July weekend keeping my fingers crossed.
Prairiehammer Posted June 21, 2015 #2 Posted June 21, 2015 Check for debris or a fallen fastener being struck by the fan blade.
star13pa Posted June 21, 2015 Author #3 Posted June 21, 2015 thanks for the advice Prairiehammer first thing I checked for nothing was there removed the fan you could see some evidence that at one time there was something in there also when I hooked the fan directly to the battery you could hear the fan motor grinding

Flyinfool Posted June 21, 2015 #5 Posted June 21, 2015 Is there a way to get some oil to the fan bearing?
Venturous Randy Posted June 21, 2015 #6 Posted June 21, 2015 What year bike do you ride? It really helps to have that info in your header or in the context of your message. Randy
steamer Posted June 21, 2015 #7 Posted June 21, 2015 First off, welcome to the funny farm. Where in up state NY are you heading to? We are in the Finger Lakes region. This is a great area to ride. Lots to see and lots of wineries, if you like wine. Great scenery and lots of lakes.
star13pa Posted June 21, 2015 Author #8 Posted June 21, 2015 fist off let me say thanks for some of the ideas. Venturous Randy I ride a 2009 venture, Flyinfool I thought about trying to oil motor but it is sealed, thanks Eagleeye for the link but I think after what I had to go through to get this fan out I think I would rather install a new one I know the new one can go bad also but the odds are in my favor that it wont. Steamer looking at heading up to Oneonta saw an article in a magazine using Oneonta as a base and doing 4 different rides 1 ride each day
