bknsaddle Posted June 14, 2015 #1 Posted June 14, 2015 After my RSTD (Darlene) went Tango Uniform, I replaced her with a 2013 RSV (Amanda) and I attempted to mount my RSTD Utopia backrest on the RSV. I quickly realized that a modification of the mounting bracket was needed to keep the bracket from pinching wiring on the RSV that does not exist on the RSTD. Fortunately, I have a handy friend so we set out to do the necessary modifications. I hope the pictures are in enough detail. The first thing we did was create a bit more clearance for the wires. We cut a little bit out of the bracket as shown below. Standard RSTD bracket First modification for increased clearance. We cut out about 1/4 inch and beveled edges. Yes, my friend is embarrassed by the weld! The next modification to create more clearance was to relocate the weld for the vertical portion of the bracket. I'm sorry I didn't take the picture from the same perspective. Standard RSTD Bracket. Note the offset. Modified bracket. Note change in weld point to eliminate the offset. There is now plenty of clearance for the RSV wiring. Backrest is on and works great! Steve
