cowpuc Posted June 5, 2015 #2 Posted June 5, 2015 WOW Skidder, THAT is awesome!! Yep,, sure enough do see some lop eared :stirthepot:ers on there!! You really really need to laminate those lists, shipping tape them to your bike and then cover it with clear polyurethane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Come on buddy,, you know you want to
Skid Posted June 5, 2015 Author #3 Posted June 5, 2015 Puc, this was before your time. This tarp was part of the west meets the east. There was a bucket of dirt that went with it at one time but I have no idea who had it last. I never saw it. This tarp had been in California, Florida, and West Virginia. Unfortunately some of the names are no longer with us.
Bummer Posted June 5, 2015 #4 Posted June 5, 2015 Do you see any names you recognize? I sure do. Now you've got me thinking "I wonder what happened to..." I kind of feel bad for not knowing.
Condor Posted June 7, 2015 #5 Posted June 7, 2015 That was started by Steve 'HDHTR' Dubois after venture west 1 held in Bakersfield ca. The package contained dirt from VW1,and the idea was to spread the dirt on the tarp and take a pic riding over it, post it to the board, and sign the tarp. It was quite popular. I guess after the crash of '06 it sorta got lost in the shuffle, and the last person never started it up again. A few quireys went out looking for the 'dirt' with no one knowing where it ended up. Now we know. I bet Don might like to have it to put in the VR.Org history box.
Skid Posted June 7, 2015 Author #6 Posted June 7, 2015 I wish I would have found it before Maintenance Day. The dirt never made it to my house. The tarp came here for the 2009 Skid-In. I don't remember who brought it here. Looks like there is plenty of room for more signature, so we need to start it around again.
Condor Posted June 7, 2015 #7 Posted June 7, 2015 You'll need to recharge it with more of that did good old Bakersfield dirt....
DragonRider Posted June 7, 2015 #8 Posted June 7, 2015 It also made it to Georgia, I think that was the first or second stop after Venture West, thats how my signature go on it. Puc, this was before your time. This tarp was part of the west meets the east. There was a bucket of dirt that went with it at one time but I have no idea who had it last. I never saw it.
