Puc, this was before your time. This tarp was part of the west meets the east. There was a bucket of dirt that went with it at one time but I have no idea who had it last. I never saw it. This tarp had been in California, Florida, and West Virginia. Unfortunately some of the names are no longer with us.

I sure do. Now you've got me thinking "I wonder what happened to..." I kind of feel bad for not knowing.

That was started by Steve 'HDHTR' Dubois after venture west 1 held in Bakersfield ca. The package contained dirt from VW1,and the idea was to spread the dirt on the tarp and take a pic riding over it, post it to the board, and sign the tarp. It was quite popular. I guess after the crash of '06 it sorta got lost in the shuffle, and the last person never started it up again. A few quireys went out looking for the 'dirt' with no one knowing where it ended up. Now we know. I bet Don might like to have it to put in the VR.Org history box.

I wish I would have found it before Maintenance Day. The dirt never made it to my house. The tarp came here for the 2009 Skid-In. I don't remember who brought it here. Looks like there is plenty of room for more signature, so we need to start it around again.

It also made it to Georgia, I think that was the first or second stop after Venture West, thats how my signature go on it.

Thanks a bunch Skid... Maybe we'll be able go back and ride VW#1 one more time. Let me know the cost of mailing and I'll shoot you the bucks....

Thanks Brad. It'll be a blast...mingling with the Ghosts of VW past... :-) I think I heard somewhere that anyone who gets VW1 dirt in the tire groves will squash gremlins lurking in the road cracks???
