testing ignition switch

After a good long time playing with the Easy Out to get the ignition switch loose and then taking it apart, everything looks fine. I cleaned all contacts and scuffed them, Before putting the switch back together, Is there a way off testing the switch itself? All the solders look good and I touched them up with the soldering iron just to be safe. The worry I have is that I put the bypass together on the bike and still have no power to anything. I have a Fluke meter but am only seeing 2.47 volts coming through the red and Brown/blue wires, I have no idea on Ohms and all that and don't know what to test and where. I would think with the bypass in place I would have power to the starter.

I found the problem ( I think) When I was trying to take the connections off the starter relay, the main fuse block and connector crumbled in my hand. Guess it is another trip to Kent Motorsports

I bought a new fuse block and relay but am worried about the plug itself, since it is pretty much toasted. Hoping I can dig things out with a knife or may have to cut and put on individual connections. What are your thoughts and can I just buy a new connector somewhere.

Check with Joe at cycle terminals. Check this page/pic out and see if you think this is it. To me I think it is.

I came home from a 3500 mile trip and the next day in wouldn't start. Had same sort of problem you are having. Main fuse was so corroded I had to replace and I used some baking soda and vinegar to clean terminals. Mine broke apart also and I put it back together and have it held on with zip ties.

Had the same type of problem with an 84 wing. Showed 12 volts with Volt but when I turned on the switch everything died. If you have an old headlight that works use that and track back to where it lights up. load will show where the weak spot is. I had 12 volt on both sides of main fuse with VOM but when I used headlight it shows the fuse was the problem and when I touched the fuse it broke in half'. I rode the bike 8- mile the day before. with no problem.
