It's time for a little truth...................

I posted this on facebook and some of the members here have seen it, but I think its important enuff that everyone should read it.

Ok, its time for some truth, Don't ignore chest pain or burning sensation, even if you think its indigestion or heartburn, get attention right away, truth is I didn't, but I am still here to talk about it. Yeah, I got to the ER in time but if I had paid attention to my warning signs earlier in the day when they occurred, I likely wouldn't have to have suffered the intense pain that finally sent me to the ER in an ambulance.

Earlier in the day right after lunch with a very good friend, I started having moderate chest pains which I passed off as indigestion and I ignored them, even thought my friend, Don Hayes, wanted to take me right then and there to the ER. But I declined, later that evening around 7:30 my ignorance turned into the worst pain I have ever felt. I thought I was having the Big One.

Turns out it wasn't, but it was a very close call. It wasn't a full fledged heart attack, but if I had waited much longer it could have been. Turns out I had a 99% blockage in one artery and 50% in another. They put a stent in the major blockage and are treating the other with meds, and of course there will be dietary restrictions coming real soon. I feel like I have been given a second chance and I am not going to screw this one up. So, if you have chest pains, or burning sensation in your chest, get to the ER immediately

, do not delay, don't eat that taco, get up and go...........PLEASE!

We had to go for a seaman's full medical exam every 5 years. One of the engineers refused to go. When he was told go or be fired he went. The doctor did not even let him leave the office. He called an ambulance and they took him directly to the hospital. He wound up having a quadruple bypass. It pays to stay on top of things.
