To keep it in a straight line. But 100 ft of inch thick mud was more than I could get thru.

Luckily just some road rash and a busted up bike. Weird thing was that 2 horses with their halters still on were just wondering down the median so I moved to the right lane and slowed to around 20 to keep an eye on them. Just as I got past them I saw I was going into the mud so I couldn't hit the brakes or try to swerve.

So I guess the lesson here is WATCH for the mud and forget about the horses in the middle of the road...

These big bikes will jump right up on them curbs at that speed. Its keepin it on the sidewalk after you get there is the trick.

The main thing is that yous OK and from the looks of the scene you didn't stop riding and freeze up and that is why things came out as good as they did. Since you apparently could walk around takin pictures and keyboard it appears your appendages aren't all broken to pieces and as your able to focus a camera and put your thoughts down in the thread I looks like you ain't brain damaged ...

Looks like the bike has a bend or two, I'll come help you put her back together ...

Glad to hear you are ok, watch out for them low flying horses. That is really weird, just last Friday while riding to work I noticed a horse just grazing beside the road no fence, no halter, no nothing except a half ton of trouble. I too moved into the lane farther away from it. I just didn't have any obstacles in my way. Sorry about the scoot but it can be fixed. Glad it wasn't real bad.

Glad to see you're not hurt too bad, sorry about the bike though.

Did you notify the township or state road authority about the mud? They should be at least partially responsible I would think. Especially if that is an ongoing problem for that part of the road. I would at least check into it.

btw, I bet ya had some mud in your pants after that ordeal, huh?

Geez, Buddy - that is not good. Glad to hear that you had the skills and ability to walkt away from this, sorry to hear about the bike - you have done alot to it. But, moreover, glad to hear that you are relatively OK.
