BuddyRich Posted March 31, 2008 #1 Posted March 31, 2008 To keep it in a straight line. But 100 ft of inch thick mud was more than I could get thru. Luckily just some road rash and a busted up bike. Weird thing was that 2 horses with their halters still on were just wondering down the median so I moved to the right lane and slowed to around 20 to keep an eye on them. Just as I got past them I saw I was going into the mud so I couldn't hit the brakes or try to swerve. So I guess the lesson here is WATCH for the mud and forget about the horses in the middle of the road... These big bikes will jump right up on them curbs at that speed. Its keepin it on the sidewalk after you get there is the trick.
dragerman Posted March 31, 2008 #2 Posted March 31, 2008 Now there’s a hairy ride… sorry about the scoot but glad to hear you’re alright.
buddy Posted March 31, 2008 #3 Posted March 31, 2008 WOW Buddy, Sure am glad your not all busted up over that ordeal, Sorry about the bike but at least you can walk away from it...I guess the damage to the bike is to the body parts? hope its not major. FROG MAN Posted March 31, 2008 #4 Posted March 31, 2008 Sounds like a case of to much HORSEPOWER to me.:rotf: Glad your OK, life's decisions come at us quick sometimes.Get well soon.
Squidley Posted March 31, 2008 #5 Posted March 31, 2008 That is a sick feeling my friend I hate to see those pics, I know how much work you have put into your bike.
Eck Posted March 31, 2008 #6 Posted March 31, 2008 Buddy, Sure glad your OK. Sorry about your bike.... Hope its not all that bad once you get the mud washed off to see how much damage you really have. If its not that bad and decide to fix it back up, check with me on available 2nd gen parts.....
Guest HdHtr Posted March 31, 2008 #7 Posted March 31, 2008 The main thing is that yous OK and from the looks of the scene you didn't stop riding and freeze up and that is why things came out as good as they did. Since you apparently could walk around takin pictures and keyboard it appears your appendages aren't all broken to pieces and as your able to focus a camera and put your thoughts down in the thread I looks like you ain't brain damaged ... Looks like the bike has a bend or two, I'll come help you put her back together ...
Riderduke Posted March 31, 2008 #8 Posted March 31, 2008 I looks like you ain't brain damaged ... I don't know have you seen some of his other posts:rotfl: Buddy glad you were able to walk away for it all. As always bike can be fixed alot easier then riders. thank god you are alright.
Condor Posted March 31, 2008 #9 Posted March 31, 2008 Geeze Buddy....was that Texas Mud....? Glad you had a walk-a-way..
SaltyDawg Posted March 31, 2008 #10 Posted March 31, 2008 Glad to hear you are ok, watch out for them low flying horses. That is really weird, just last Friday while riding to work I noticed a horse just grazing beside the road no fence, no halter, no nothing except a half ton of trouble. I too moved into the lane farther away from it. I just didn't have any obstacles in my way. Sorry about the scoot but it can be fixed. Glad it wasn't real bad.
Freebird Posted March 31, 2008 #11 Posted March 31, 2008 Really sorry to hear this news and see those pictures Buddy. Glad you are OK and hope that you get the bike fixed soon.

BuddyRich Posted March 31, 2008 Author #22 Posted March 31, 2008 Thanks everybody. I really just wanted to say. Watch out for the thing your not watching for.... There goes that brain damage again :rotf:
KingSizer Posted March 31, 2008 #23 Posted March 31, 2008 Glad to see you're not hurt too bad, sorry about the bike though. Did you notify the township or state road authority about the mud? They should be at least partially responsible I would think. Especially if that is an ongoing problem for that part of the road. I would at least check into it. btw, I bet ya had some mud in your pants after that ordeal, huh?
WilCruise Posted March 31, 2008 #24 Posted March 31, 2008 BUMMER! Glad you came through it with just the roadrash though.
Lone Eagle Posted March 31, 2008 #25 Posted March 31, 2008 Geez, Buddy - that is not good. Glad to hear that you had the skills and ability to walkt away from this, sorry to hear about the bike - you have done alot to it. But, moreover, glad to hear that you are relatively OK.
