aharbi Posted May 29, 2015 Share #3 Posted May 29, 2015 It isn't pretty. Found another body this afternoon as the water recedes. 5 still missing, total dead 19. Most of it due to flash flooding where 10-15 foot wall of water rushes down either a dry creek bed or swells a normal flowing river. Mind you, a river in Texas is called a stream elsewhere. One river rose 40 feet in minutes. Several earthen dams have washed away. Most drownings from heavy rains are from folks trying to cross low water crossings, not this time, whole occupied structures were washed from their foundations (an estimated 60 homes) to float downriver and then be crushed at the next bridge. Several concrete bridges have been washed away as numerous low water crossings. Another storm due to pass thru late tonight. Most that need help have/are receiving it.
