cowpuc Posted May 21, 2015 #1 Posted May 21, 2015 Have always liked the idea of having a Chevy 350 mounted on a couple of wheels and have always wondered just what that would be like.. Thought I was gonna get a chance to sample one at Sturgis a couple years ago but, after I got all signed up for the demo ride the guy wanted me to give em 50 bucks and that was a deal breaker.. Anyway, any of you varmints ever own or ride one?? If so, wanna tell us about it? Interested in other folks who, like me, have been deprived of such an experience too..

Kirby Posted May 21, 2015 #3 Posted May 21, 2015 I think "Footsie" down in SW GA bought one several months back. He posted pics on here I think. Something about having a "middle age crisis".
Silverado6x6 Posted May 22, 2015 #5 Posted May 22, 2015 Any engine but one that is designed from a radial aircraft motor but missing 3/4ths of the other cylinders. I know somebody made a Wankel bike, would love to see an updated version.

chabicheka Posted May 22, 2015 #7 Posted May 22, 2015 Did test ride once few yrs back. Engine heat cooked my calfs and groin hurt from the wide legged sitting stance. Was a thrill, though, riding it. Was 2 speed auto transmission. Too pricey. Was about 40 or 45 grands, then.
Monty Posted May 22, 2015 #8 Posted May 22, 2015 Too heavy for me. I know the owner of Boss Hoss. His name is Monte...lol. Super nice guy. The International rally is held down here in Paris, Tn, in September of every year. They don't charge for demo rides. I met a guy from Michigan that has two 502's on his trike. He designed it himself.
Venturous Randy Posted May 22, 2015 #9 Posted May 22, 2015 I am wondering if Boss Hoss has switched over to the LS series all aluminum engines from General Motors. These engines are more compact and being all aluminum weigh at least 100 pounds less than the standard 350 Chevy engine. You can buy a crate LS3 that is rated at 525hp and this is one of the engines that guys are putting in their Miata's. Randy

Hate to be a passenger when the pilot accidently bumped the throttle when a bump jars em!!
Daveand Barbie Posted May 23, 2015 #12 Posted May 23, 2015 I let Barbie's scooter fall off the side stand in the parking lot of a camping place at Key West on a brandy new Boss Hoss trike a few years ago. Left a pretty good rubber mark on the fender. Does that count?
Monty Posted May 23, 2015 #13 Posted May 23, 2015 Her name is "Temptress". https://www.paktune.pk/watch/rPF2yhfkyFM
Great White Posted May 23, 2015 #14 Posted May 23, 2015 Personally, I've never considered a boss hoss as an option as a bike. Seems to me, the market for those behemoths is better as a trike....
Daveand Barbie Posted May 23, 2015 #15 Posted May 23, 2015 I owned this beast for a couple of years with a friend. We used it exclusively in Key West when we used to spend the winters there and is what I would guess a Boss Hoss would feel somewhat like. It took a cow pasture to turn the crazy thing but was fun on the straights like Duval Street. We would tell the girls that we were going to "take the dog for a walk" and then see how many times the girls on Duval would flash us. We owned it for 3 years, decided we needed to become adults, then sold it. My FJR that replaced it is far more comfy and way more fun in the twisties.
Freebird Posted May 23, 2015 #16 Posted May 23, 2015 I think that the Boss Hoss is a bit much for a bike. Some people have more money than sense though. That's all I'm going to say...gotta go mow now.
Monty Posted May 23, 2015 #17 Posted May 23, 2015 They have those at the rally too. Also, the bar stools with 502s on them. EDIT...I was talking about the other bar stools.
Freebird Posted May 23, 2015 #18 Posted May 23, 2015 Actually that one is a barstool. I just thought it looked a lot like a mower and I could get by with that.
