Hi,

I have a 2002 Venture with a dead battery. I have looked through the owner's manual, and cannot find how to remove the seat. Can anyone tell me (in layman's terms) how to remove the seat so that I can attach the battery tender? Thanks so much, Betsey

You need a 10mm wrench and remove the two nuts under the front part of the seat. Then it will lift off.

(Is that layman enough for ya ;) )

there are 2 nuts on the bottom of the seat towards the front. Not sure of the size, remove them, lift the front edge of the seat and slide it forward a touch.

Here's another tip for you... Install the 2 wire plug on your battery and leave the plug hanging out on the right side and you can plug your battery tender in without removing the seat in the future.

Excellent tip! I was wondering about this...I just purchased a dual Battery Tender 2-bank charger and will arrive next week. I have an older 82 Goldwing, and the 06 RSMV and its a pain in the backside to remove the seat each time to get to the battery on my Yamaha. SO with this tip, I won't have to worry about removing the seat to get to the battery.

Thanks!!!
