Guest Betsey Posted March 30, 2008 #1 Posted March 30, 2008 Hi, I have a 2002 Venture with a dead battery. I have looked through the owner's manual, and cannot find how to remove the seat. Can anyone tell me (in layman's terms) how to remove the seat so that I can attach the battery tender? Thanks so much, Betsey

Thanks so much, Betsey You need a 10mm wrench and remove the two nuts under the front part of the seat. Then it will lift off. (Is that layman enough for ya )
VTirelli Posted March 30, 2008 #3 Posted March 30, 2008 there are 2 nuts on the bottom of the seat towards the front. Not sure of the size, remove them, lift the front edge of the seat and slide it forward a touch.
MAINEAC Posted March 31, 2008 #4 Posted March 31, 2008 Here's another tip for you... Install the 2 wire plug on your battery and leave the plug hanging out on the right side and you can plug your battery tender in without removing the seat in the future.

I was wondering about this...I just purchased a dual Battery Tender 2-bank charger and will arrive next week. I have an older 82 Goldwing, and the 06 RSMV and its a pain in the backside to remove the seat each time to get to the battery on my Yamaha. SO with this tip, I won't have to worry about removing the seat to get to the battery. Thanks!!!
