utadventure Posted March 30, 2008 #1 Posted March 30, 2008 I added a sissy bar to Jan's bike this last week. She's happy!! We've ordered a pack to go it as well.
Squidley Posted March 30, 2008 #2 Posted March 30, 2008 Good thinking, get Momma hooked on safety chrome and it will be easier to put some on yours What year is her Suzuki? looks to be in good shape
Mariner Fan Posted March 30, 2008 #3 Posted March 30, 2008 Looks like late 70's early 80's to me. I had a 79 Suzuki GS1000. Man, that was a good bike....
utadventure Posted March 30, 2008 Author #4 Posted March 30, 2008 It's a 1982 GS650, 4 cylinder motor. At 60 mph it is about 200 rpm's higher than my '86 Venture and keeps up really well. If it only had a bigger tank.
nelsontoddpa Posted March 30, 2008 #5 Posted March 30, 2008 Gotta love those bikes- minimal maintenance and they run forever. Good Looking Scoot!
1sttenor Posted March 30, 2008 #6 Posted March 30, 2008 I had an old, not at the time, GS750, that was a good bike. Hardly ever did anything but put gas in it. That one look very similar. Enjoy!
Mariner Fan Posted March 30, 2008 #7 Posted March 30, 2008 My GS took me through my 20's. Dang my first wife for talking me into selling it! Great bike.
autopilot Posted March 31, 2008 #8 Posted March 31, 2008 I had the 850! Loved that bike. Never failed me once. I don't know the difference in tank capacity between 650 & 850 (if any), but mine got 50+mpg unless I was horsing around. It would seem the mpg should offset the difference in tank between the 650 & the venture
