Here is the link that touches on this repair: http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?516-Repair-of-chrome-windshield-trim&highlight=windshield+trim+clip

My question is: does anyone either have a few of these clips and I will buy them from you, or have the item number or details of that clip? I went to a local supplier and there are dozens of different sizes and style of those speed nut clips, and without more info, I don't know which one is the right size or style.

Thanks.

I would like to know this as well.

When I did mine this spring, I bought what I thought was "close enough". Turns out it was still too big, so I cut it down from using 2 legs to only using 1 leg.

It has worked so far, but I'm a completionist, and I want it done right, without buying a new trim piece to have it break and leave me in the same situation.

Just buy some that are the same width as the broken tab, you may need to alter width slightly. Cut a slit where it slides up the back of the tab. Finished length should mimic the good tabs.

Important is that the hole be as small as possible and that where the bend (bottom of the U) is solid. You will have to grind off a little from each side and stuff the clip closed a bit.

Measurements from what I have is :

5/16" wide

1/2" tall
