Jayceesfolly Posted May 7, 2015 #1 Posted May 7, 2015 Just as the title says, I have a broken wire in the female end of the plug and I can't solder those tiny wires. My eyes aren't good enough to do that anymore. The break is where the wires are soldered into the plug, because by wiggling the plug and holding it the right way I can get the connection to work. Needless to say, riding one handed is not recommended! Does any one have a spare cable they will sell me? The cable is the one with the red, white and black wires connected to it. Thanks Jim
Jayceesfolly Posted May 8, 2015 Author #3 Posted May 8, 2015 Is it the curly cord or the straight one? Carl: It is the straight cord that has the red, white and black wires on it. It plugs into the amplifier mounted under the AM_FM radio. Jim
Prairiehammer Posted May 8, 2015 #4 Posted May 8, 2015 Jim, I assume, since you picture one from eBay, that you have searched there? If you fail to find one on VentureRider, and if by chance you missed these on eBay, here are two more: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1989-Yamaha-Venture-Royale-1300-XVZ1300-89-Intercom-Radio-Cables-/261612034603?hash=item3ce94ada2b&vxp=mtr http://www.ebay.com/itm/1990-Yamaha-XVZ1200-XVZ-1200-Venture-Royale-Y429-cb-radio-wire-cable-/291399798642?hash=item43d8c80f72&vxp=mtr
Jayceesfolly Posted May 8, 2015 Author #5 Posted May 8, 2015 Kevin: Thanks for the two links. I ended up buying the one from Pinwall (where I copied the pic). I am going on a trip next week end and didn't want to leave without the cable as I will need the CB to communicate with the other riders. BTW, The armrests came out great. I used heavy duty style "P" clamps to mount the frame and then took it apart and am going to have them rechromed. Looking around for a cheap chrome shop. I won't need them for the trip next week, so I have time to look for a chrome shop. Jim
