Anyone upgraded to the new Drift Stealth 2 - Action camera.

Like to know some pros and cons.

I used to have the older larger version but never really got to used it due to the accident.

Hey Brian,

All I'll say it this. I've had the Drift HD170 for years. Was pretty happy with it. Did the job and seemed to be quite durable over a lot for miles on the bike in all kinds for weather conditions. BUT a year or so ago i had a problem with it. The camera still records fine and can be linked into the 'puter for playback and file transfer. The only problem is that the display screen went to a bright white. No diplay, to fuction control, no menu options, nuttin. All i can do it record in the last setting the camera was in and view the clips.

I made many attempts to contact service centers and tech support from Drift. Would wait months for a reply. And .... nuttin. I finally got a response early this year from tech support telling me that is was probably a connection on the main board that had come lose causing the problem. When I inquired as to where to send the camera for repair knowing full well it was past warrenty but was willing to pay for the repair as the camera was fine except the display I was told that line had been discontinued and they no longer would offer any service or repair for that model. They could tell me what was wrong but not willing to provide any support? Nice.

They do seem to make a durable product but don't seem to stand behind the line when a problem appears. So... any future purchases of camera gear will NOT be through Drift. As far as my experience goes........... customer support was not only lacking, but didn't exist at all. A sad disappointment over a product I was quite happy with.

Just my humble opinion.

Sorry to hear your issues. Your service problems were completely opposite to mine. I have a new (less than a year old) Ghost S. I'm very happy with the video, all the bells and whistles, etc. etc. I started having problems with one of my batteries when the camera was in Car DVR Mode in the vehicle. Wouldn't charge the battery. I had two batteries and the other one worked fine. I contacted Drift Service by email and after ensuring they fully understood the run up to my problems, they shipped me a new battery. Things worked fine for a couple months and the new battery packed it in and wouldn't take a charge. Back to Service by email and once again, through some trial and error, we determined the problem was not with the batteries but with the USB power cord. They immediately shipped me 2 new power cords as well as a discount coupon for 25% on any online order "for the inconvenience". In short, the service and shipping time etc. was a 10/10 as far as I was concerned. Problem has been solved and I'm a happy customer. Maybe my situation was different because I'm still on warranty. Hi,

I've used Drift Stealth 2 for several months and in fact I'm satisfied with it.

The best in this camera is its shape and size. You will find difference between it and some cube-shaped camera during fast motorcycle riding. Stealth is small and aerodynamic, so doesn't distract you when mounted on helmet. Also its batteries last about 3 hours, which is longer than in any other action cam.

I have an old contour 1080p HD.

Small, light dead nuts reliable.

HD quality.

Not the best cam at night though. Functional and acceptable is how I would describe it.

Best of all: they go for 50 bucks or less used on eBay these days....
