Heinno Posted May 3, 2015 #1 Posted May 3, 2015 Hi All just got a 2009 rstd. Love the bike, hate the sound.... So new pipes is on their way. My question is, do you need to rejet, or will you just loose a couple of hp if you don't? How much hp do you gain if you rejet?
Freebird Posted May 3, 2015 #2 Posted May 3, 2015 I've seen these bikes run with just about every type of muffler you can imagine. I've never seen one that needed to be re-jetted. I ran 4 different kinds of mufflers and K&N filters on mine and it always ran great. Would re-jetting have gained me anything? Possibly, I don't know for sure, but I never felt it was necessary.
eagleeye Posted May 3, 2015 #3 Posted May 3, 2015 I've got the HD slashcut road king mufflers, with the baffles drilled out on my 05 RSTD, and I did not rejet, and it runs fine.
Heinno Posted May 3, 2015 Author #4 Posted May 3, 2015 (edited) Thanks, That sounds good, did not want to fiddle with the carbs. I have ordered a set LA Chopper slip on exhaust pipes, looking forward to it... hope the are not annoying, sounds nice on the sound clips I could find online I had a Stratoliner before, added a d&d slip on, bike ran just fine, better if anything!
