mrjeff Posted April 27, 2015 #1 Posted April 27, 2015 (edited) Screen shot from my GPS .Just got back from Nashville. Rode up Friday(525 miles) mostly Interstate. Came home today (514 miles) almost no interstate. 10 hrs up and 11.5 coming home. I bought the RSV because 500 mile days were tough on the Road Star, 600 mile days on the interstate will be no problem now. Going up I ran one tank of gas at about 80-85mph and only got about 38mpg. Today I did 187 miles on the Natchez Trace and only used 3.5 gals (53mpg). The rest of the trip MPG stayed in the mid 40 mpg range. Glad I bought this bike! Edited April 27, 2015 by mrjeff
Wrench Posted April 27, 2015 #2 Posted April 27, 2015 Yes, long miles are definitely easier on the Venture. I went from an '02 Suzuki Volusia 800 to an '04 RSMV, then "down" to an '03 Roadstar after back surgery, and now back on a '99 RSV. The Venture by far is my favorite even though I do miss the old Roadie when riding solo. I'm envious of the Natchez Trace bit of your trip.
mrjeff Posted April 28, 2015 Author #3 Posted April 28, 2015 Even though I live in South MS. I have only ridden the Natchez Trace from Tupelo to Nashville. I want to do the whole thing one day.
djh3 Posted April 28, 2015 #4 Posted April 28, 2015 Hmm I see something fishy. The max speed looks suspicious @ 394 mph
Flyinfool Posted April 28, 2015 #5 Posted April 28, 2015 My GPS shows a similar speed, I turned it on in an airliner once. Now I keep it just to show how fast I can go.
mrjeff Posted April 28, 2015 Author #6 Posted April 28, 2015 Hmm I see something fishy. The max speed looks suspicious @ 394 mph Max speed showed 85mph on trip up and 394mph when I got home. I don't remember going that fast, I was pushing to get home , but I suspect it is off by about 300.
