That looks like a nice road !

Where are you coming from to get to Red Lodge ? If you are going to be in that area, if you haven't already added Yellowstone Park to your list, you could do the "Grand Loop" and take the North East Entrance Rd from the park. Start in Tower Junction and take the "Bear Tooth" to Red Lodge. Then continue to Glacier NP.

Two Years ago we were in Cody, WY and went thru Yellowstone, then took the Bear Tooth to Red Lodge. From there we went North to Billings. Wish I had added Glacier to our route and "Going-to-the-Sun Rd"

Don,

I'll actually be staying in Roberts, Mt. , at a friends house, which is North of Red Lodge by 12 miles . I have been out there several times already and have done the loop you talk about. Beartooth and Chief Joseph are just a day ride from Wayne's house and we will ride those again this time. Last time there we did a loop that included Cooke city, Gardner, W. Yellowstone, Jackson Hole, Riverton, Cody then back to Wayne's. The next day we loaded the 4 wheelers and went to St. Anthony's sand dunes in Idaho for 3 days. Check out some of the dunes videos on youtube. Especially Choked Cherry dune :yikes:

This time our ride will take us North & West to Going to the sun road & Glacier NP.

If you have the time I would recommend getting to "Craters of the Moon" National Monument in Arco, ID and then take 93 North to Kalispell. This is the Lewis and Clark Trail. Craters of the Moon is the site of multiple volcanic eruptions and lava flows. Odd looking landscape. The Salmon River Canyon is supposed to be really nice (friend rode it), and the route climbs over some mountains as well. It would take longer though, expect the mountain crossing to take some time and you have to get to the West side of Yellowstone somehow.

I'll put that one on the bucket list for next time I'm out there. We're not going to have time during this trip. Thanks for the tip. :thumbsup2:
