Huggy Posted April 18, 2015 #1 Posted April 18, 2015 OK What can you guys tell me about this bike!! 2001 SUZUKI INTRUDER LC 1500cc 63935 klm $2995. Owner is selling due to health issues. http://i.ebayimg.com/00/s/NDUwWDYwMA==/z/zvkAAOSwBLlVHLcl/$_35.JPG
slowrollwv Posted April 18, 2015 #2 Posted April 18, 2015 They are a strong running bike and the motor is almost as bullet proof as the Yamaha.
PBJ Posted April 18, 2015 #3 Posted April 18, 2015 Strong over built bikes. Suzuki was largely overlooked for its well built cruisers because of its sport bike reputation. But they are sleepers. Strong and reliable. Buy it!!!!!
Huggy Posted April 19, 2015 Author #4 Posted April 19, 2015 I am seriously thinking about it!!! I have the cash!! I'll give the guy call to see if he still has it. Then I'll go have a look at it. he's only an hour away. And the picture is of the actual bike for sale. And he says that's certified!!
ragtop69gs Posted April 19, 2015 #5 Posted April 19, 2015 A buddy I ride with alot has one , good running bikes but they have a small fuel tank and sound like a John Deere farm tractor . It won't beat a 2nd gen in a race but it comes close. He has had zero trouble with it in the 8 years he's owned it.
Snarley Bill Posted April 19, 2015 #6 Posted April 19, 2015 i had one that i bought new. very powerful, alot of vibration at higher rpms, very good seating position, i think the five speed helped the vibration at highway speeds. mine was a four speed. the five speed had thinner gears so they would fit in the same case. the transmission was weaker. great fun bike. they also have automatic valve adjusters. very easy to maintain. mine would almost lift the front wheel rolling on the throttle. very cool looking bike. they are air and oilcooled, meaning the oil is injected on the bottom of the pistons and circulated through a large oil cooler.
blue mtn. jim Posted April 19, 2015 #7 Posted April 19, 2015 I had a 1998 the first year they came out, put 40,000 miles or more. In 2002 they came out with a dual piston rear brake and it made a great difference in stopping, I had the old single brake on it and it welded itself shut on a ride to Panama City Fla. that was enough for me. The 2002 was as they say plug and play to put on, had it on in less then 30 minutes, Heavy bike and two up most of the time wore those single pads even the high heat and metal every 5,000 miles. But as others said they are built proof, and oh yea you have to remove the tank to change plugs and no reserve on a good day on the highway 120 miles top two up. Would buy it for that price if I had the chance and wanted a LIGHTER bike. Take care Jim
buddy Posted April 20, 2015 #8 Posted April 20, 2015 I'm thinking of buying one later on once I get to feeling better and since Peg can no longer ride it will be for me as for riding to work
Wrench Posted April 21, 2015 #9 Posted April 21, 2015 There is an auxiliary fuel tank available for them, that'll give you more distance. http://justgastanks.com/product_info.php?products_id=3518
Huggy Posted April 21, 2015 Author #10 Posted April 21, 2015 Well after much deliberation and soul searching I'm going to pass on the Suzuki, sigh.:stickpoke:Nice bike but not right now.
