Midicat Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Wish me luck. I've never done one before but it looks straight forward. Fingers crossed. Thomas
Marcarl Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Just don't make the clutch bolts too tight. Use an inch lb torque wrench.

Midicat Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 Would you recommend gasket sealant on new gasket? 8 ft/lbs = 96 in/lbs. right? Thomas
Marcarl Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Iffin you has a new gasket you'll not need the sealant, only makes a mess for next time.
Midicat Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 Thanks Carl, discs are in, pressure plate on with new springs and bolts. torqued to 96 in/lbs. cover is going on now. Woohoo!

Midicat Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 Where are you going? I need to take it for a spin. I can meet up with you. What kind of pressure on clutch cover hex bolts? Thomas
Marcarl Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 leaving @ 12:50, to the penninsula. Bolts... make them tight.
Midicat Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 Sorry Carl. I went to see Sally at work in Kitchener instead. She's much prettier than you. The new clutch works great! I see a new potential problem with it though. No more slipping at all and because of that, I find that I am cranking the throttle a lot more often. Man, this isn't the same bike! What a thrill. Thomas

Thomas I found a similar issue when I got my clutch to stop slipping, a sudden drop in gas mileage.......
