Midicat Posted April 18, 2015 #1 Posted April 18, 2015 Wish me luck. I've never done one before but it looks straight forward. Fingers crossed. Thomas
Marcarl Posted April 18, 2015 #2 Posted April 18, 2015 Just don't make the clutch bolts too tight. Use an inch lb torque wrench.

Midicat Posted April 18, 2015 Author #4 Posted April 18, 2015 Would you recommend gasket sealant on new gasket? 8 ft/lbs = 96 in/lbs. right? Thomas
Marcarl Posted April 18, 2015 #6 Posted April 18, 2015 Iffin you has a new gasket you'll not need the sealant, only makes a mess for next time.
Midicat Posted April 18, 2015 Author #7 Posted April 18, 2015 Thanks Carl, discs are in, pressure plate on with new springs and bolts. torqued to 96 in/lbs. cover is going on now. Woohoo!

Marcarl Posted April 18, 2015 #10 Posted April 18, 2015 leaving @ 12:50, to the penninsula. Bolts... make them tight.
Midicat Posted April 18, 2015 Author #12 Posted April 18, 2015 Sorry Carl. I went to see Sally at work in Kitchener instead. She's much prettier than you. The new clutch works great! I see a new potential problem with it though. No more slipping at all and because of that, I find that I am cranking the throttle a lot more often. Man, this isn't the same bike! What a thrill. Thomas

Thomas I found a similar issue when I got my clutch to stop slipping, a sudden drop in gas mileage.......
