Everette Posted March 28, 2008 #1 Posted March 28, 2008 I have just about decided part of the problems that I'm having with my ride is the battery. It is 5 years old and I'm going to replace it. Decision? There are several types from gel to AGM to normal batteries. Any thoughts?
BuddyRich Posted March 28, 2008 #2 Posted March 28, 2008 I use an odyssey which seems to be a really good one. http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?threadid=20629
Tom Posted March 28, 2008 #4 Posted March 28, 2008 Odyssey but if you dont ride it alot keep a battery tender on it.
Everette Posted March 28, 2008 Author #5 Posted March 28, 2008 Thanks, I just ordered a Odyssey. It should be here next week. I do ride almost every day. I would have ordered with the group, but don't think I can wait util May.
Tartan Terror Posted March 28, 2008 #6 Posted March 28, 2008 Odyssey but if you dont ride it alot keep a battery tender on it. Keep in mind with the Oddessy you cant just use a regular battery tender. It must have charge at a 6amp rate or your battery wont charge. I got a Oddessey Ultimizer tneder to use on my Odessey and it works great. My regular tender didnt work right for that as it only tends at 2A
Freebird Posted March 28, 2008 #7 Posted March 28, 2008 I keep seeing this but I've used a regular battery tender on mine for more than 4 years now and it works great. It will NOT charge one that is way low but mine will top it off if it's slightly low and will keep it fully charged. I've had no problems at all.
