djh3 Posted April 25, 2015 Author #26 Posted April 25, 2015 Most guys I have conversed with if they have the halogen hi beam, dont even use the hi beam. For the very reason you state. The little pod cree LED lights I just bought have a modulate function built rite in. I scared to run them that way for fear law man will not like it and give me a ticket.
Flyinfool Posted April 25, 2015 #27 Posted April 25, 2015 Are those LEDs modulating or flashing. Modulating is legal, flashing is not. Modulating is where the light dims but never turns completely off.
djh3 Posted April 27, 2015 Author #28 Posted April 27, 2015 Hmm I dunno. Aint really paid no attention.
djh3 Posted May 5, 2015 Author #29 Posted May 5, 2015 New replacement bulb arrived today. I got it installed and while hooking up the hi/low connector its slightly different than what my old bulb was. So had to do some engeering and clipped my connector off old bulb and used a couple 1/4" flat spade connecotrs to the new bulb. So all is good. The power and ground were OK. So its all up and working now.
djh3 Posted May 5, 2015 Author #31 Posted May 5, 2015 Yea as best could tell in picture they looked the same. But shaped a bit different when I tried to plug it into mine. So as I thought about it originally I was just going to solder the wires onto the new bulbs hi/low wires. Then I got to thinking, what if say in a couple years this bulb dies and I need to replace it? (I got 2 bulbs when I purchased the replacement ones last week so I have a spare) I would have to cut and solder again. So I opted for a connector I can just crimp on.
