WOW Eckster, talk about horrible flash back memories,,,,,, thoughts and prayers for all involved!!

Reading this just sent chills down my spine, its seems like just yesterday that our neighbor and his 9 friends (all from Michigan) were over in Wisconsin near Fond Du Lac on their once a year ride that, as a group, they had been taking for almost 20 years. In their case, a young man decided he didn't like motorcycles (sounds crazy but that is the last we heard as far as reasons from the authorities), swerved over and hit the lead bikes head on and everyone went down like bowling pins!! Our neighbor was in the rear of the group, lived to tell about it (spent 4 months in a coma) and has since had to sell their family home and he is now in a nursing home.. These unnecessary things are horribly hard on everyone involved!! Like I said,,, thoughts and PRAYERS UP for all involved!!

It seems sometimes like there's a lot of that sort of thing going around.

A despicable and careless disregard for people on motorcycles.

I've witnessed everything from poor and inattentive driving to cagers who appear to be playing "Road Games" and trying to cause an accident.

This may sound harsh to some, but to me when someone tries to run someone off the road (bike or cage) or purposely decides to take them out, it should be treated as aggravated assault with a deadly weapon or murder, depending on the outcome. There is too much of this crap going on and people are getting away with it.:bang head:

" swerved over and hit the lead bikes head on and everyone went down like bowling pins!! cowpuc"

In 1989 4 of my friends were going North on US6 up Price River Canyon in staggered formation when a lady coming the other way leaned over to pick something off the floor of her 3/4 ton pickup and drifted wide on the curve. Killed 2 head on the 3rd hit the space between the cab and the bed. He survived but was 9 months in the hospital and has only vague memories of his life before the accident. The 4th had time to avoid the accident but never rode much after that.

This was an accident but whether in cage or bike we just have to pay attention all the time.

Thanks for posting, Eck. It's good to have reminders to keep us attentive when we are out there!

Wow, Puc what's the rest of the story? What happened to the driver of the car? Was it determined that he really did it deliberately? Nothing we can do when it's a kook like that, except not be there in the first place....to me that one is more of a nutjob story and less of a 'bikes are dangerous' story. He could've just as easily decided to drive into a crowd of pedestrians or shoot up a DQ.
