Spring 2015 Texas flower sniffin

We had a wet winter and a wet spring. Now we have spring flowers bustin out all over. It's been several years since we had this many spring blooms. Here is a sample. Many many more to come. I headed south out of Austin to Lockhart taking back roads toward Luling.

I turn around and I have company coming to join me. Wish I had some apples with me. But then again I suppose the owner wouldn't want just anyone feeding his horses either.

I know I'm getting close to Luling when I see all the pump jacks working and can smell the natural gas heavy in the air.

Yes there really is a road by that name. I run out of road and head back to Lockhart.

Ya know Lockhart is known as the BBQ capital of Texas. And now I can say I've eaten at every one of them in Lockhart!
