djh3 Posted April 9, 2015 #1 Posted April 9, 2015 I walked by one of these today. Had to take a double take. I thought at first it was a modified CanAm. NO way For about the same price this thing would be more pleasurable I would think. Any guesses?
vzuden Posted April 9, 2015 #2 Posted April 9, 2015 Looks like a Honda F6B that someone crossbred with a can am
pope3567 Posted April 9, 2015 #3 Posted April 9, 2015 Honda F6B with a modified front end. But from whom? Not seen one of these but very nice...
Wrench Posted April 9, 2015 #4 Posted April 9, 2015 This may be the one you saw,,, http://www.ebay.com/itm/Demo-2013-F6-B-with-R-18-Reversed-Tike-kit-installed-/221487747021?pt=US_motorcycles&forcerrptr=true&hash=item3391b2cfcd&item=221487747021&nma=true&si=av1ObQmHY247Mv5wnL58xTyR8a8%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 The kit is a Sturgis Motoren reversedtrike.nl That's pretty cool!
djh3 Posted April 9, 2015 Author #5 Posted April 9, 2015 From what the sales fellow told me today they sell them in the 32-37k range if I remember right. He said a little higher than a Can Am but hey you get 1800cc of probably one of the most reliable optioned out scoots on the market. I thought it was pretty dang nice looking. I like it a lot better then the other way around trikes.
cowpuc Posted April 9, 2015 #6 Posted April 9, 2015 WOW zzz WOW WOW WOW - is that AWESOME!! It almost looks like the front end is articulative (did I say what I wanted to say and mean what I meant to mean with that word?).. Like the rider is maybe turning the whole front axle instead of just the front spindles - probably an illusion.. Anyway,, COOL BIKE!! Ok, so if I had the cash,, hmmmmm,, well,, I gotta admit,, me and that Carbon One, we kinda think alike I think.. I think I would go with a Slingshot just cause I like the looks of and the idea of having an adult go cart/Cedar Point Roller Coaster/roadster twisty carving side by side with a 170 horsies draggin my butt around!! Maybe I am wrong but it seems like the low sitting go cart would require far less rider input in order to control things once g-forces starting taking over.. I am probably wrong but I am a biker and I know all to well about how much body input it takes to really get a bike to perform like a race car in twisties.. I also know how much FUN go carts can be and, if I had the money to toss into something along this line I would ripping down to my Polaris Dealer and dragging home a Slingshot.. Probably be taking the body off it to make it look even more dune buggy/go cart RAW but yea,, 170 horse while sitting a few inches off the ground has my attention!!!
The Tooch Posted April 9, 2015 #7 Posted April 9, 2015 But if you took the body panels off.......Where would you put the stickers?!
Flyinfool Posted April 9, 2015 #8 Posted April 9, 2015 But if you took the body panels off.......Where would you put the stickers?! Or the tent and stuff?
Prairiehammer Posted April 9, 2015 #9 Posted April 9, 2015 Here's more info about the Sturgis Motoren R18: http://thekneeslider.com/r18-reverse-trike-kit-for-the-honda-gold-wing-gl1800-and-f6b/ http://thekneeslider.com/images/2014/07/sturgis-gold-wing-trike1.jpg
Pegasus1300 Posted April 9, 2015 #10 Posted April 9, 2015 doesn't Hannigan make a conversion kit similar to this?
ragtop69gs Posted April 9, 2015 #11 Posted April 9, 2015 doesn't Hannigan make a conversion kit similar to this? Yes they do. I saw one at their Showroom and it was a very nicely done conversion.
Carbon_One Posted April 9, 2015 #12 Posted April 9, 2015 I like this version of reverse trike, more so than the Can Am's due to so much Wing stuff out there. BUT at that $32k + cost the Slingshots at $20-$24k are a better bang for the buck. When one looks at costs of a conventional mc trike you're looking at $24k and up into those $30k numbers depending on make, model, & year of mc & trike conversion. I believe we'll be seeing a lot more of these reverse trikes in the future & even more of the new wave of "auto cycles". Larry
