FROG MAN Posted March 27, 2008 #1 Posted March 27, 2008 A out of state scam artist operating in his home town decided to go big time. He purchased or stole about 20+ chainsaws all of the same make and model and sold them on Ebay. When I purchased mine his feedback rating was excellent over 98% and he had sold these saws for about 1 month. I read the other buyers feedback reviews and they were all happy with their saws still new in the box but expressed a slow 2-3 week delivery delay. The individual was selling about 10-15 saws every weekend and receiving payment via paypal. About 10 days after I purchased my saw and still waiting for that email and tracking number from the seller something went very wrong. I noticed the sellers feedback rating was dropping and negative reviews were pouring in over no communication and no saws received.Within two days I filed a complaint with Ebay as my communications attempts went unanswered.Within 3 days Ebay settle up my financial losses and shut down the sellers account. The policed dept handling the investigation has apprehended the individual awaiting trial. Apparently he sold his shipment of saws about three times. Ebay treated me more then fairly and I bought a better saw then the one I never received.:cool10::cool10:I have been doing business on Ebay many years and will continue to do so.One of my biggest issues is the seller claimed to be a Christian business.
RPG Posted March 27, 2008 #2 Posted March 27, 2008 Maybe Christian was just his last name. Glad they caught him and E-Bay helped you out.
a1bummer Posted March 28, 2008 #3 Posted March 28, 2008 Ebay was absolutely no help at all when I got the shaft. Maybe their doing something about the "buyer beware" attutude that alot of us ebayer's have gotten. Glad to hear your happy in the end. Now I hope this guy gets what he has coming.
Guest Vermincelli Posted March 29, 2008 #4 Posted March 29, 2008 When it comes to ebay feedback, do a little investigating first. It no longer means much. What people do is open a bunch of accounts, then the seller sells stupid things like a pencil or even paperclips for pennies and uses his fake accounts to "buy now", then give himself positive feedback. If you go into the feedback sections, actually open the previous auctions. The title may say "antique wardrobe" but when you open it, it's a ball of yarn in the pics and the buyer turns out to be some brand new account or you will notice an account buying nothing but what the seller has to sell over and over.
MrRadi8 Posted March 30, 2008 #5 Posted March 30, 2008 I received a lovely email from a "good Christian women" who wished me "love in Christ" as she was telling me how she was wanting to move her millions out of Angola or somewhere if I would only help. Said she got my "name" from a list. Funny, she didn't mention my name at all in the email... Also note how many people when they are arrested are wearing a cross. Guess they forgot to look down before they killed someone/robbed the bank.
Stoutman Posted March 30, 2008 #6 Posted March 30, 2008 I'm glad Ebay took care of this crook. If eBay wants to be the place where people shop on-line they'll have to step up and try to police their site to keep people honest. The thing about Christians is anybody can claim to be one. Even the devil believes in God. If that is one of the first claims they make, I'm usually wary. Honest business people don't have to bring up religion to make a sale
hipshot Posted March 30, 2008 #7 Posted March 30, 2008 i got a "junk e-mail", yesterday. said that my E-bay account had been locked down, because some "unauthorized" person was trying to access it. only fly in that ointment, is that i NEVER even had an e-bay account! don't know what to make of it, so i just deleted it. just jt
