As you can see, have a couple of problems. If I could get the first one, radio, fixed, I probably wouldn't hear the exhaust leak. LOL

Problem no. 1

no sound from the speakers. The radio comes on, lights the station no.s up, but no sound. Have checked to see if headphone switch is off and it is. Actually can hear static, but no music, and volume doesn't do anything. Need help!!

Problem no. 2

exhaust leak. Know where leak is, it is at the joint where the muffler attatches to the header pipe, right side. My question is, there was a thread about using copper pipe for a gasket instead of paying Yamaha's rip off price for the gasket. Have searched but can't find it. Does anyone remember what I am talking about??

Thanks

Don H.

Don- I'd suggest getting in there and cleaning all your connections on the amp to the speakers. I've got one speaker that cuts in and out, and then every once in a while I loose all the audio... then it comes back on when I hit a bump. So I know it's a bad connection...just to lazy to get in there and fix it. You might also try cleaning those blue connections under the radio controller.

I had this problem and bought new speakers which worked for awhile. Pulled the bike out this year and discovered the real problem (for my situation) and it was the stock wiring that was solderd to the speaker. went out and purchased some new speaker wire and the problem has been resolved. pull the turn signals for a quick diagnoses. this worked for me.. good luck

Is your radio on INC?

Push your select button before playing with any wiring...make sure its not on AUX or INC

Push your CB button, and change CB channels, and listen for sound..

if you have CB sound, then your radio is not on radio..:thumbsup2:

On your exhaust leak: is it leaking where it attaches to the engine or at the "Y" section?

If its the "Y" section, then your covered under warrenty.. the weld broke

1) do you know anyone with a headset? Older Wings, Voyagers, and others use the same plug. That would help to narrow down the problem, to see if the headset output works. How about the tape deck?

2) I have the same exhaust leak. Need to buy a gasket. I think Condor took his pipe or old gasket to a muffler shop and found something suitable.
