dingy Posted March 30, 2015 #1 Posted March 30, 2015 (edited) I have talked to the Quaker Steak & Lube in Vermillion. They are expecting us Friday night, May 29th. This is the night before the annual Oberlin festivities. They have 28 tables on the dock balcony. We will need to use the tables to the maximum capacity, but we are all friends here. They just reopened after remodeling the facility. That's the reason I have taken longer to get this set up this year. This is not a catered event, everyone is responsible for their own dinner & refreshments. About a 20 mile ride. Previous years people left in small groups to go to QSL. But I would say plan on around 5:00~6:00 time at restaurant. Map from Don's to QSL link below. http://g.co/maps/75rae Please let me know an approximate head count by signing up for calender event. Added calender link below. Freebird Posted March 31, 2015 #7 Posted March 31, 2015 Thank you for taking care of this again Gary. You are much appreciated for all you do.
Marcarl Posted March 31, 2015 #8 Posted March 31, 2015 Will there be enough room to sit? will they have enough food? do I have to eat somebody else's meal? will FreeBird be on time? do they have real beer? is it going to be hot, or cold? will it rain on my parade? will somebody try to outclass my Spyder? Lots of questions that won't have any answers until it happens,,, and if you don't attend we can tell you stories 'til the cows come home,, What a great way to start the annual BS session!
Flyinfool Posted March 31, 2015 #9 Posted March 31, 2015 Whether or not there will be enough food depends on if you get there before or after me. AND I have a 1st gen.
Marcarl Posted March 31, 2015 #10 Posted March 31, 2015 Whether or not there will be enough food depends on if you get there before or after me. AND I have a 1st gen. Flyinfool Posted April 21, 2015 #13 Posted April 21, 2015 Its hard to believe. With all of the chow hounds in this bunch only 30 RSVPs so far.
cowpuc Posted April 22, 2015 #14 Posted April 22, 2015 Its hard to believe. With all of the chow hounds in this bunch only 30 RSVPs so far. My oh my,, I think I figured it out Jeff,,, take a close look at the list so far.. I wont say any names associated with this but one of my fingers started throbbing where a fork glanced off it during the last encounter at grub time with a couple of these varmints.. Maybe some innocent bystanders out there are concerned with leaving with all the body parts they came in with or something:confused24:
Flyinfool Posted April 22, 2015 #15 Posted April 22, 2015 Well there is my mug showing in a couple of Dingys pics. That could be part of the problem too.
cowpuc Posted April 22, 2015 #16 Posted April 22, 2015 Well there is my mug showing in a couple of Dingys pics. That could be part of the problem too. You know what,, you could be onto something,,,, maybe only people with looks above grade "8" should be allowed at the eating place:bluesbrother:.. Sure is gonna be hard eating all that food with it being just me accompanying all those pretty VR ladies this time:big-grin-emoticon:!!!

Marcarl Posted May 26, 2015 #19 Posted May 26, 2015 I have talked to manager at Quaker Steak this weekend and they are expecting group to be there around 5:00 Friday, on the dock. Gary Don't want to throw a damper on this Dingy, but do they have inside room in case it rains??
Flyinfool Posted May 26, 2015 #20 Posted May 26, 2015 Don't want to throw a damper on this Dingy, but do they have inside room in case it rains?? I was gonna ask the same thing. The long rang horrorcast might be a little damp.
Monty Posted May 26, 2015 #21 Posted May 26, 2015 I remember them having a large area inside, but it was pretty busy in there.
cagie Posted May 27, 2015 #22 Posted May 27, 2015 Dingy, I recently saw that another OH QSL has banned colors (even "soft colors" as in ABATE, Legion, etc. patches). Might check and see if the Vermillion location has the same rule and let everyone know.
