utadventure Posted March 26, 2008 #1 Posted March 26, 2008 In the morning (or when it's cold out), the turn signals and the indicator light come on and stay on. While they are lit up, I can hear a buzz from something inside the fairing. Once the ambient temp warms up, the signals work fine. I looked through the service manual but it doesn't talk about this situation. I'm thinking that it's probably the flasher relay or the self cancelling unit. Please let me know what you think it would be and how difficult it is the correct and where it's located. Thanks all!! Dave
muffinman Posted March 26, 2008 #2 Posted March 26, 2008 Dave take the left turn signal out of the fairing and reach in and remove the relay If I remember right it has 3 or 5 wires its about 1 1/2 inch long and is black in color there are a few in there so make sure you get the right one.Gently rmove the cover and clean it with electrical cleaner when you reinstall it put dielectric grease on the connection. Jeff What Jeff said.............you will find it in a rubber mount right behind the flasher. the flasher is about 1" long and about as big around as a quarter. Probably aluminum and silver in color.
muffinman Posted March 26, 2008 #4 Posted March 26, 2008 James actually on a Venture they are either white or black and square in shape I have yet to find an aftermarket flasher relay that will interchange. Jeff
utadventure Posted March 27, 2008 Author #5 Posted March 27, 2008 Thanks for the ideas!! Where are you buyint Dielectric Grease? Is it under another name? I've looked at Autozone, Checker, Pep Boys, NAPA etc. Is the cleaner as hard to find?

Jeff Jeff your right. What i was talking about is the other flasher, i think for the e-flashers. The signal flasher is just as you describe, and it sits just behind the flasher i was talking about. My bad though, i didn't do a very good job of describing it.......
