mralex714 Posted March 10, 2015 #1 Posted March 10, 2015 Need carbs for an 86 VR in usable condition. I only need the right front one or the right bank. Thanks
Peder_y2k Posted March 10, 2015 #2 Posted March 10, 2015 Never seen just one carb on e-bay, only complete bank of 4. Might need to buy a bank, then sell off the other 3. Hopefully, someone had a parts bike that is willing to separate. -Pete, in Tacoma WA USA
Prairiehammer Posted March 10, 2015 #3 Posted March 10, 2015 It is rare to find a carb that is "unusable", unless it has suffered catastrophic physical damage to the carb body. What exactly has rendered the carburetor "unusable"?

What exactly has rendered the carburetor "unusable"? Let's just say things have not gone well during repairs and leave it at that. BTW I will take a whole set, just so I can get the one I need.
Kc9ojn Posted March 11, 2015 #5 Posted March 11, 2015 I have a set off my 84 I may be willing to part with. They will need some work there not in bolt on condition.
Kc9ojn Posted March 11, 2015 #7 Posted March 11, 2015 Du oh Ya he did say 86, model change was 85 if I remember. I also have a set of carbs on my 88 parts bike. There in better shape but still will need work. I am not 100 % I want to let them go but I hate so see a loved gen 1 sitting.
dingy Posted March 11, 2015 #8 Posted March 11, 2015 Do you need just the carb body or complete carb? Gary
mralex714 Posted March 11, 2015 Author #9 Posted March 11, 2015 Do you need just the carb body or complete carb? Gary Yes, I only need the the carb body. I can install everything else from the old one.
dingy Posted March 11, 2015 #10 Posted March 11, 2015 I have had to buy two bodies for the #2 carbs when I put the VMax choke on them. I paid $75 each for a bare body with throttle plates still in. VMax bodies are the same as Ventures (MKII) as far as I know, other than the #2. I can't be sure though because Yamaha did not assign a part number to bodies only that I know off. I can put you in touch with person I got mine from. He is a professional. Gary
