Eck Posted March 10, 2015 #1 Posted March 10, 2015 The wife and I both have been down since last Thursday with this nasty bug. She is still feeling pretty bad, laying in bed, and taking meds. This morning, (Tues), I woke up feeling a lot better but still not out of the water yet from this bug. This is some nasty stuff... runny nose that just wont stop no matter what type of medicine we have tried, body is very sore and pain everywhere, lots of pressure behind eyes and in head, eyes watering constantly, sneezing every 10 minutes, coughing off and on all day & night..no energy at all.. I hope no one that reads this catches it..( I did not include it in my post....)..
bill in mn Posted March 10, 2015 #2 Posted March 10, 2015 Go for a ride and you'll feel a lot better. Seams to help cure me.
cowpuc Posted March 10, 2015 #3 Posted March 10, 2015 NOT FUN!!!!! Thoughts and Prayers Up Eckster!! Hope you both get to feeling better real soon!! Try and stay hydrated - whenever that nasty bug shows up around here we drowned it with gallons of 7 UP and boxes of instant chicken soup (the kind with those little noodles).
Eck Posted March 10, 2015 Author #4 Posted March 10, 2015 We have eaten bowls of chicken noodle soup (with the noodles)..Been drinking lots of water...and I always chew ice.. Got up this morning and was beginning to feel a little better, but it is slowly creeping back up on me once again.. My body is beginning to ache all over and nose is starting to run.. Man, where does all this liquid come from up in there? Been plugging my nose with Kleenex and it just soaks it up by the quarts..unreal.. Going for a ride Bill sounds like fun, but I know I don't have the strength to hold that thing up...
Prairiehammer Posted March 11, 2015 #5 Posted March 11, 2015 Man, where does all this liquid come from up in there? Been plugging my nose with Kleenex and it just soaks it up by the quarts..unreal.. My Debbie is doing the same thing. She shore looks funny in the morning. I am trying my darndest to avoid getting it from her, but I fear it is a lost cause...starting to cough a bit myself.
Du-Rron Posted March 11, 2015 #6 Posted March 11, 2015 I have just kleaned my keyboard to avoid catching it from you. You know the drill. Drink lots of fluids. Get better soon!
Venturous Randy Posted March 11, 2015 #7 Posted March 11, 2015 (edited) Hey, it's the lots of fluid and chicken noodle soup that is making the snot(it even looks a little like chicken noodle soup). I Hope you two get through it and it can be very serious as many more folks have died from the flu than ebola. Linda and I both have been dealing with colds. I thinking we are passing it back and forth. It also don't help that like today we jumped in the Miata and took a 150 mile ride with the top down just to eat lunch. But, it is a lot of fun. Eck Posted March 12, 2015 Author #10 Posted March 12, 2015 I'm curious. Did you get the flu shot? Not this year... but I did get the shingles shot...
Eck Posted March 12, 2015 Author #12 Posted March 12, 2015 ...and he did stay at a Holiday Inn! Yes we did and I just wrote my survey reply out today telling them what a joke that place was.. Wont make any difference, but I felt better typing it up...... Konnie and both are doing a lot better now.. about 85% back to whatever normal is...
BlueSky Posted March 13, 2015 #13 Posted March 13, 2015 Not this year... but I did get the shingles shot... The reason I ask is that they say it is only about 20% effective this year because they didn't guess right on the strain that would come. I'll probably get the flu tomorrow but it has been over 25 years since I got a flu shot. About 3 weeks afterwards I got the worst bout of the flu I ever had so I don't take it any more and haven't had the flu since. (Knock on wood)

I usually do get a flu shot but this year I didn't. My wife got sick first, then she started feeling a lot better after 3 or 4 days, then I got sick and then she got it all over again.
