Guest Popeye Posted March 26, 2008 #2 Posted March 26, 2008 has anyone tried a diehard battery? if so, good or bad idea to use one? thanks Diehard is one of the few batteries that I've heard nothing good about. A better question would be; "Which are the best batteries?" for your specific application. I use an Oddessey pc680 AGM, sealed battery, myself. CompUfire is supposed to make a good battery as well. If you have upgraded to a 90 amp alternator, you must have a 'sealed battery'.
oldandcrotchety Posted March 26, 2008 #3 Posted March 26, 2008 Then let me be the first to say something good about them. I have a Diehard in my '83 and have never had any trouble at all. I don't remember what brand was in it last, but I had to check it pretty regular to keep the water level up. Never had to add any in the diehard and it cranks the bike better that previous battery. I'm very satisfied with it and will get another when this one goes tits up. The sensor hole on the Diehard was too small, but I just reamed it out with a drill and right sized bit.
