Stock Exhaust 2009 Royal Star Venture

Hello all... I just picked up this bike the other day and was running it in the garage.. I noticed what i thought was a exhaust leak but later found out that both tail pipes has 2 holes drilled in them about 6 inches apart. is this something that was done afterwards or are the stock pipes like that.

Yup on the back bottom of each pipe.

Condesent drain so water that condenses has some placeto go while warming up.
