Can I use an 85 for parts for my 87?

I just picked up an 87 vr, the fairing has some damage, was stored outside for a year, runs ok starts hard but runs ok. can I use parts from an 85 for the plastics etc?

Yes, The fairing (upper and lower) and side covers are the same. Obviously the trunk and saddlebags are not, but you knew that.

When it doubt you can check Boats.net. There you can look up YOUR part and find out what models it was used on. They have a data base that will tell you what models used what P/Ns... so far as I know it's all inclusive of the Mk. 1s and Mks 2...if not I'm sure some one will clear that up.
