RedRider Posted February 18, 2015 #1 Posted February 18, 2015 Stopped by and chatted with Eagleeye yesterday. He showed me his new to him Triumph Bonneville. What a classic beauty. We need pictures!!! I'll let him tell the story. BTW, he is doing well in retirement. Catching lots of ice while fishing (that's the purpose of ice fishing isn't it?). RR
eagleeye Posted February 18, 2015 #2 Posted February 18, 2015 Always good to see you, but at this time of year all we can do is TALK about motorcyles, but that's a good thing. I'll run into you out on the road this summer for sure, somewhere. I did buy a 2002 Triumph Bonneville that immediately after it was purchased, it was painted to the 1965 bonny's colors. Pacific Blue and Silver. My first bike was a 1965 bonny so I jumped on it. It is a pure pleasure to ride, and like the old bonny's it is ready for a corner before you are.
cowpuc Posted February 18, 2015 #3 Posted February 18, 2015 (edited) WOW is that purdy!! I LOVE the classic look and feel of the older bikes too Eagle, CONGRATS!! Are those carbs I see hanging on them intake manifolds or are they throttle bodies made to look that way? Edited February 18, 2015 by cowpuc
RedRider Posted February 18, 2015 Author #4 Posted February 18, 2015 Cowpuc, Exactly the first question I asked. Carbs. RR
Oldodge Posted February 18, 2015 #6 Posted February 18, 2015 That is a beauty. Congrats! I almost bought an 05 Triumph America. It had carbs with heaters and I believe a throttle position sensor too. Decided on a 1500 Vulcan instead that I really enjoyed, but I have always wondered if I should have bought the Trumpet.
