MikeWa Posted February 16, 2015 #1 Posted February 16, 2015 My Nokia cel phone just dumped my all of my contacts. No reason for it. I just went to make a call and nothing. My list of contacts is gone. Pisses me off. I was saving then to the Micro SD card just in case the phone went bottoms up. But plugging the card into my computer is no help. I have some pictures but no contacts. Sign me as Not Happy Mike
cowpuc Posted February 16, 2015 #2 Posted February 16, 2015 Arrgggg,, I dont usually use the word hate but I HATE when that happens!! Wish I could give ya a magic fix Mike..
Flyinfool Posted February 16, 2015 #3 Posted February 16, 2015 Take the phone back to your provider. The store geek may be able to retrieve your contacts if you did not already do something to overwrite them.
Eck Posted February 16, 2015 #4 Posted February 16, 2015 I was going to tell him the same thing, but you beat me to it Flyinfool.. The contacts should still be on the card...(mine were)
Zzyzx Posted February 16, 2015 #5 Posted February 16, 2015 Sync your phone with your computer/outlook contacts file that way you will hopefully never loose them...unless the computer takes a dump.
saddlebum Posted February 16, 2015 #6 Posted February 16, 2015 If your phone is google based and you have gmail your contacts may be synced with your gmail. It happened to me were I lost all my contacts and on a hunch I found when I went into settings and then help I found steps to retrieve my deleted contacts. Once I retrieved them I turned sync on on my phone and all my contacts were restored. The problem with these new phones is that the more sophisticated they get the more unpredictable they become and the easier it is to do something stupid. Half the time I think they have a mind of thier own and they tell you what you want to do instead of the other way around.
MikeWa Posted February 17, 2015 Author #7 Posted February 17, 2015 I tried to recover my contacts on my PC. I tried plugging in the phone and I tried the card by itself. No luck. So today I took the phone to AT&T. Went to show them my problem and there they were. All of my contacts were back. Don't ask me how that happened. It just did. So I purchased a new phone and sim card. This old Nokia has given me problems before. So it is time for it to go bye bye. Anyhow all is well now. New phone new card. And transferred contact list. Mike
