videoarizona Posted February 11, 2015 #1 Posted February 11, 2015 First, went to the store via the Old Nogales highway. Then home. After lunch...took a late afternoon ride down to Elephant Head Rd and headed up to the base of Mt Hopkins. There is a Smithsonian Observatory at the top of the mountain, but I went as far as the Welcome Center, then turned around. I took it easy going up and back as it's open range, as we have been stopped by a rather large white bull that likes to stare you down! No cows or bulls this afternoon, but a beautiful day hitting 82! In the distant as you come down....there is Kitt Peak....and Baboquivari Mountain. Baboquivari Peak Wilderness - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia They are some serious distance away, but the air is so clean here that 40 mile visibility is easy on most days... Anyway: The videos of today are here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/10jv0yrnhsu5ad4/AADrl8Y3JhVBnHdBoT_42KOAa?dl=0 Enjoy at your leisure... david
cowpuc Posted February 11, 2015 #2 Posted February 11, 2015 NICE!!! THANK YOU DAVID!! I finally got this Adobe Flash to work and got to view the first vid - WOW,, sure brings back memories of being WARM!! Talking about just the 1st Video here - Was that your neighborhood we left from on the way to the Post Office? What highway were we running parallel with and, at about 6 minutes and 30 seconds in the vid, along that highway was what looked like an Arizona State Line sign? What was that all about? NICE LITTLE 11 MINUTE RIDE TO GET US STARTED - THANK YOU FOR TAKING US ALONG!! I miss cactus's Puc
videoarizona Posted February 11, 2015 Author #3 Posted February 11, 2015 Yep....on the return video, you can see me drive right into my garage (Whaa? ) > I-19. There are two access roads paralleling the freeway for some of the time between Tucson and the Mexican border. Those access roads lead to interesting places. Arizona Centennial signs. Scattered around the state on interstates. 2012 was our 100th year. We are a young state! Welcome, Puc!
Chaharly Posted February 12, 2015 #4 Posted February 12, 2015 I dont have the patience to watch the whole thing. But i did let it run in the background, closed my eyes, and pretended i was on a venture right there with yah!!!

videoarizona Posted February 13, 2015 Author #7 Posted February 13, 2015 Hey David, I'm not far from you as I sit at work near the Tucson airport and put off working... We sure have had some outstanding weather, but today is a bit...breezy... Jeremy, TIA is a favorite destination when I travel. I do like flying out of there VS Phoenix. Costs more...but worth the convenience. We have to get the other VR riders in the Tucson area to join in on a ride this Spring!
