I have removed the windshield several times and have either stripped our knocked the mounting nuts that would be attached on the back of the mounting bracket located at the top of the picture. I guess I need to replace this, if anyone knows the part number or any suggestions I would appreciate it. Thanks guys, Davidfaring8.jpg

Which bolts? The couple of end ones are sort of in nut plates you could probably fix. The center ones I'm not so sure.

One end nut plate on the bracket is stripped and two of the other holes where the bolt would tighten the shield in just seem that I am twisting rubber and does not snug up. The two large center bolts I was referring to are the ones that hold the bracket to the bike.

As for the 5 year warranty...when I got my bike the chrome strip in front of the windshield had a couple broken tabs. I bought my bike used (3 months old) and the dealer that did the safety on it pointed out the issue. I tried submitting it thru Yamaha but they denied the claim saying that it could have been user damaged and not a flaw in the bike.

With your bracket, the dealer may say it is because it was over tightened by the owner. Don't be surprised if the claim is declined.

I agree Don. honestly it is my fault. I just can't figure out what part # it is or looking at the diagram which part is the correct reference.

Can you either post a closer picture that shows the issue or put an arrow on the picture you posted identifying the part?

Parts diagram (cowling1) attached.

Yup I think 7-stay is the flat metal strip. From Bike bandit not available out of stock. Plus its like $130 bucks. #33 is the nut plate, but I do not know how it is attached. Have you tried running a tap thru and cleaning the threads up? Maybe, just maybe you can get lucky. I always start mine by hand before tightening them. And I start them all before tightening any of them. 4XY-28357-00-00 is part # for stay. Me I would see if I could clean the threads up, second shot would be to see about putting a nut plate in it or time zert or rivnut.
