Bartley Posted March 24, 2008 #1 Posted March 24, 2008 Many of you have installed Tony's passing light extension bracket. I just did and I love not having to drop the lights to split the fairing. I noticed, however, that the clear plastic lowers are attached to the passing light bar, and that extending the passing lights also moved the lowers away from the forks about 2 inches so that the rubber bumper no longer supported the lowers. I've read that others here have had lowers break when they were not supported against the fork. For this reason I installed a 2" bolt through the bottom hole in the bracket and put a rubber tip on the end of it so now it rests nicely against the fork. Just wondering what some of you done with this situation. I'm interested in how others have dealt with this. Thanks!
KeithR Posted March 24, 2008 #2 Posted March 24, 2008 I have the same bracket installed and I also just added the bolts as you mentioned.....mine were shorter because of the plates I used to move the deflector bracket back. See pics below. Keith
Joopster55 Posted March 24, 2008 #3 Posted March 24, 2008 So, where can I get one of these passing light extension brackets?
KeithR Posted March 24, 2008 #4 Posted March 24, 2008 Have a look at this posting.....not sure if he still makes them or not. Keith http://www.venturerider.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1656&highlight=passing+light+spacer
Cougar Posted March 24, 2008 #5 Posted March 24, 2008 Ed, Yep - I used the same method as you a while ago using long white plastic screws with plastic bolts on each side for adjustment. Jeff
