If I go with him to check the bike out, is there anything in particular to the first year of the 2nd Gens that I need to be aware of?

Thanks in advance gang!!

the trunks bottoms were prone to cracking in the first year , and like all G2 Ventures the rear shocks are prone to leaking, and needing replacement for about 600 bucks. just check for oil on the shock, if its not wet you should be ok.

Roll on the throttle while in 4th or 5th gear and check that the clutch doesn't slip.

Or like in my case, all the oil had already leaked out so it was never wet, but never had oil either!!

wasn't it real bouncy when you rode it? usually when the oil is gone you have a pogo stick effect happening.

It wasn't to bad, but yes it did not feel as planted. I am also 300 pounds and it did hold air so that helped some. But I went with a Hagon shock to replace it and could not believe the difference.
