WHY does my color change back to red everytime I read a thread and click the back button?

 

WHY do I get logged off VR everytime I leave this site then come back even after selecting remember me?

 

Why do I still hear bubbles popping even if I close the shoutout box?

They are telling you correctly. You have your browser set to not save cookies. First of all, you shouldn't log out when you leave the site. Just leave, it will show you idle after a set amount of time. Make sure you have the "remember me" box checked. Even if you do though, it stores the cookie to remember you on YOUR computer so if your security settings are set to delete cookies, that is why it doesn't remember you.

 

As for the color, go to "settings" at the upper right of the screen. Scroll down until you see "general settings" in the left menu. Click on that and then scroll down that main page until you see "misc. settings". Make sure you have your color checked there.

 

You can't turn off the popping sound. I thought I disabled them for everybody but if you are still hearing them, I guess my turning them off didn't work.

I never log off, I just close the browser window by clicking on the red X in the top right. I also check the remember me.After I read a thread and click the back button itgoes back to the last page and changes back to the red color.I use VR as my home page and after visiting another web site and I return home page I have to log in again.I use 2 car club sites daily and it always remembers me as I never have to log into them again.This just recently started this on this site and I haven't made any changes to my computer because Idont know how.When I turn on the computer it goes to the home page VR as a guest but the remember me box is checked.All I do is type in my user name and my password is already there I just click go and it is always red page.I change it to green everytime.What am I doing wrong?

Roost, lets try something.. My computer does the same thing as your except I get my gray (color I use) when I log back on..

Just for a kicks, log on, scroll down and select "gray" in the little box at the bottom of the page.. Once the color changes go up and log off.. Then, just type the first letter in the login box of your name, the rest of your name should appear below the login spot, click on your name and it should appear instantly in the box, now click on the password area and your password should already be there.

When you now click login, you should be back to the "Gray" screen.. If you now dont use the site for a 1/2 hour, say you select another tab and go play at one of your car sites,, or you go use the restroom,,, then you come back after a 1/2 hour and you click back on the tab where you were here at VR - the screen is gonna still be Gray BUT - as soon as you try to respond to a thread, you are gonna get a red screen and have to log in cause you are trying to interact.. Once you log back in though, you should be back to the Grey screen.. I suggest that you try the grey screen cause I know that has been working for me.. If it does work as I am describing, then go back to your green screen and see if it acts differently - maybe its the green color for some reason..

I just looked at your settings. You didn't do what I asked you to. If you go to your Settings, General Settings you will find that you still have it set to red. You need to change it there to the color that you want. That will ensure that it is the right color once you login. As for why it's logging you out? The only explanation is that your system is deleting the cookie when you leave the page. That is in your browser security settings.
