videoarizona Posted January 22, 2015 #1 Posted January 22, 2015 Well..it finally happened! My 89 decided to eat a screw...lost somewhere in the bowels of the scoot. I'm in need of a hexagon screw...part # 90153-10015-00 ...the screw that covers the fill hole on the rear master cylinder reservoir. Dealer did try to find around country to no avail... TIA, david

TIA, david It has been my experience that any lost item from that general area ends up on the swing arm in front of the tire. If you fail to find it: any 10mm bolt will fit. Banjo bolt, etc. Don't forget to add a sealing (crush) washer under the head. FYI: the size of the bolt can be determined from the Yamaha part number. In this case: '10015' translates as a 10mm diameter bolt, 15mm long. Edited January 22, 2015 by Prairiehammer
videoarizona Posted January 22, 2015 Author #3 Posted January 22, 2015 (edited) > I was just going edit the post and ask...! I have the washer..it fell down where I could get to it. Off to Ace...thanks Kevin! d (maybe I'll get two of each...) Edited January 22, 2015 by videoarizona
videoarizona Posted January 22, 2015 Author #4 Posted January 22, 2015 Well...no one, Ace or True Value, carries a 10mm X 15mm. The smallest they have is 20mm. To long, for sure. Dealer is now searching old parts bin plus looking through new parts catalogs for bolt. I would think it would be common on many motorcycles...even today's new ones....but the parts department is not set up to search by dimensions...just part numbers....and no cross reference to a new number for this little bolt.
bongobobny Posted January 22, 2015 #5 Posted January 22, 2015 Searching for a screw? Try the red light district... Hey, somebody had to post it.

videoarizona Posted January 22, 2015 Author #7 Posted January 22, 2015 Searching for a screw? Try the red light district... Hey, somebody had to post it. LOL! Robert is kidding, of course! But he just called me and he found the screw in his parts bin and is mailing it off to me ASAP! He asked that I pay it forward by buying a homeless person a burger....that I will do! Thank you Sir Robert of Scharf!
ragtop69gs Posted January 23, 2015 #8 Posted January 23, 2015 So,,, you're getting screwed by Bongobob eh !?
Flyinfool Posted January 23, 2015 #9 Posted January 23, 2015 There is no such thing as a screw that is to long.........
Freebird Posted January 23, 2015 #10 Posted January 23, 2015 I almost agree with you but not quite. If it is too long and not threaded all the way down then it COULD be too long unless you have the means to thread it.
KIC Posted January 23, 2015 #11 Posted January 23, 2015 I had to check my URL ...I thought for a moment that I had been redirected to the Penthouse Forum....

Next time your in that situation buy, the 20mm long bolt(provided the treads are entire length) and a 10mm nut. Thread nut onto bolt to the 15mm length and cut excess off with hacksaw. Wind nut up to bolt head and smooth end off (slightly taper) with fine table grinding wheel. Remove nut (nut will make your treads Perfect) Edited January 23, 2015 by CaptainJoe
