I was thinking of putting a hitch on the bike and using a mesh rack in the hitch to help hold a box of my stuff. I was looking at lighting for the rack the other day and thinking about things when I spotted this gadget, its actually supposed to attach to a helmet to make you more visible. But, I was thinking I would attach it to the back of the rack so it would give me the lights without doing a ton of wiring. I would think this might work for a trailer as well.

It uses Bluetooth to talk to the module that you attach to your signal and brake light. Can anyone think of a reason this couldn't work?

The control box still has to be connected to the bikes wiring and now you are adding batteries to power the lights. I think it would be easier to just wire up some lights, and have it done right once and for all with no batteries to keep replacing.

One thing that they could be useful for is sticking them on the bag without cutting into them! Put 2 on the trunk and one on each saddlebag!

I doubt they'd need a battery swap often!

Brian,

I will throw you out an offer....

I can build you a hitch for your bike, I weld for a living so I can tell you that it will not break. I will also help you wire up your bike for your rack as I have done a few RSV's over the past 10 years or so.

I will send you a pic of a RSV hitch I built but I cant find it right now and I gotta head to work.

M61AMECH does a fine job of wiring up such things and makes them plug-n-play. I would drop him a note and let him know of your plans.

Thanks! I would like to talk to you about a hitch and also about a platform for the back that goes into the stinger. I do a bit of event hopping with RAGE in the province, and it would be handy to have some extra storage.
