dynodon Posted November 15, 2009 #801 Posted November 15, 2009 I'd say you got the Turkey target good. Only problem with the new target is who takes their motorcycle hunting? Can you include fake deer like lawn ornaments? If not, then Ok, we can try to see who wants to lay a deer across the passenger saddle!
Scooter Bob Posted November 15, 2009 #802 Posted November 15, 2009 Only problem with the new target is who takes their motorcycle hunting? Can you include fake deer like lawn ornaments? I was hoping for a pic after the hunt when you get home, deer can still be in the back of the truck, or on the hood, or the roof, or hanging from the tree. Just roll the bike out into the pic. But if someone wants to ride to a friends place or finds a hunting camp, and take a pic of their deer, that's fine to. If it's not hit by the end of Thanksgiving weekend, then I'll settle for the fake deer lawn ornaments, we saw a ton of those yesterday while looking for the turkey. If not, then Ok, we can try to see who wants to lay a deer across the passenger saddle! I've seen that done a few times around here. In mid October, former State Senator Dave Zien (million mile HD man) hit a deer on the way to the State ABATE meeting with the new bike HD gave him when they put the old FXRT in the museum. New bike had 70k miles on since April. He threw the deer over the back seat and continued the ride to the meeting. Later, Scooter Bob your next target is...You and your bike and a deer you have just harvested from the woods, bow or gun, I don't care, just get rid of more of them to keep the rest of us safe on the road next summer. by Scooter Bob
dynodon Posted November 27, 2009 #803 Posted November 27, 2009 Just stirring things up a bit. No word on that pic of a dead deer and your bike. The season isn't over yet, but maybe a change of target might be in order?

The season isn't over yet, but maybe a change of target might be in order? Thanks for stirrin Don, but.... Before I saw your post this morning, I saw a new thread in the watering hole about deer hunting, and two guys from WI have killed 3 each this year . I'm going to nudge them to get the pic so we can move on. Hopefully they can get it done this morning, cus I'll be riding this afternoon, and could use a target I can play with... eagleeye Posted November 28, 2009 #805 Posted November 28, 2009 Geez, I had to read the MANUAL to see how to shoot a delayed photo. Here it is. Next target is you, your bike and (I'm gonna have to think about it for a bit) I'll give it today, but later. Steve
Scooter Bob Posted November 28, 2009 #806 Posted November 28, 2009 Geez, I had to read the MANUAL to see how to shoot a delayed photo. Here it is. Nest target is you, your bike and (I'm gonna have to think about it for a bit) I'll give it today, but later. Steve Good job on the hunting Steve!! Waiting anxiously for the next target:whistling:. Hopefully the Yahoo alert works so I can get it while on the road today. Later, Scooter Bob
dynodon Posted November 28, 2009 #807 Posted November 28, 2009 Steve, Way to go! Can't wait to see the next target. I am taking a ride later, hope to go "hunting" for that one then!
eagleeye Posted November 28, 2009 #808 Posted November 28, 2009 OK, here it is: It's harvest time everywere. You, your bike and a combine--any kind of combine, but a real one. Steve I'd still like to know why this does'nt show up on the home page after posted.
Scooter Bob Posted November 28, 2009 #809 Posted November 28, 2009 I'll be back from riding before dark Don, we'll post one then. Can't go a mile around here right now without finding one (but I promise to go much farther than that, pushing 50 degrees today). Harvesting is so far behind around here due to all the rain in October that we can't get our snowmobile trails marked yet. Good Luck Everyone, Scooter Bob The current target is... It's harvest time everywere. You, your bike and a combine--any kind of combine, but a real one. by Eagleeye
Scooter Bob Posted November 28, 2009 #810 Posted November 28, 2009 I'd still like to know why this does'nt show up on the home page after posted. Did you just use the back button, or did you "Refresh". Might need to "refresh" to see it, but it's there. Do you have a seat for each day of the week hangin' in there?? Later, Scooter Bob The current target is... It's harvest time everywere. You, your bike and a combine--any kind of combine, but a real one. by Eagleeye
dynodon Posted November 29, 2009 #811 Posted November 29, 2009 (edited) Darn, The wife and I took a nice hours ride in the country today (59 degrees and sunny, very little wind, near perfect for Nov 28 in Illinois!) and must have gone by 20 combines. But all we had were our phones with camera and we lost the adapter to let us download pictures from the memory card. So we didn't take any pictures, knowing we could not get them on the web anyway. (don't even suggest that I e-mail them to myself, I don't have that kind of camera...it takes lousy pictures and makes lousy phone calls. Can you hear me now Verizon!) Anyway, the ride was wonderful. We did several mods to the wife's Shadow Ace Tour to take some wind off her so she will ride with me in colder weather, and it works well. She still won't probably go with me much below 50 degrees, but it is still nice to have her with me whenever I can. I am still amazed at how pretty the slightly rolling hills of corn country can be during the changing seasons. Will take my good camera with me tomorrow for breakfast if it doesn't rain too hard. eusa1 Posted November 29, 2009 #812 Posted November 29, 2009 Don, let me be the first to tell you how much i would like to see this same temp. a month from now DECEMBER 28TH but you might want to check your calendar, because mine is still stuck in NOVEMBER:stickpoke: BUT WHAT THE HECK!! MERRY CHRISTMAS:buttkick: RIDE SAFE, MIKE
dynodon Posted November 29, 2009 #813 Posted November 29, 2009 Yep, got a month off there! Changed it so it makes sense.
Scooter Bob Posted November 29, 2009 #814 Posted November 29, 2009 Karen and I took a nice ride over to Sauk City to visit Eagle Eye, went for a little ride with him, and found this baby near Doylestown on the way back home just before dark. (IH Truck Guy will love it) Fresh from the field, and I think he was fueling her :mo money:up for another trip to the corn stalks. Anyway, now that Thanksgiving is over, and these are now appropriate yard fair, Your next target is... You and your bike and one of those inflatable Christmas decorations. Could be Santa, the penguin, the Grinch on the chopper, doesn't matter, just any inflatable Christmas yard decoration. Good Luck, Scooter Bob and Karen
dynodon Posted November 29, 2009 #815 Posted November 29, 2009 Scooter, GREAT Picture! Congrats on the find and getting the target. I did make that breakfast ride this AM with the BMW guys in my area. We ride about 20 miles to a small town VFW that puts on a good breakfast for very little bucks. About 10 bikes in 43 degree overcast weather. By 10am, it was spitting a little rain, not enough to make me put on the raingear, just my leathers. A fun ride, no combines out, so I was glad to see you got this one. good next target, I know there are some in almost any area, so if weather cooperates, I will be hunting next ride!
IH Truck Guy Posted December 2, 2009 #816 Posted December 2, 2009 Great pic Scooter..... A IHC Cornbinder working hard...priceless....
dynodon Posted December 3, 2009 #817 Posted December 3, 2009 had to take a car trip today and saw several inflatable winter things, one in particular I wish I could have gotten a shot of had a Harley looking bike and rider (full size) with lights and such! Didn't have a camera with me. Darn.
Zfrebird4 Posted December 3, 2009 #818 Posted December 3, 2009 Never did ride IN Illinois, but only through it on the way from OH to CO where my kids lived, and where we all live now! And Squid: (!!!) I put in 65 miles Monday, and of course snow last night an 16 now; but that's temp until I yell at the mts and the clouds roll back to let that CO sunshine in! And yes, the scenes of harvest in Ill are great. I've seen many of them in my younger years serving country churches. IN FACT, I once watched that through the 200 year old double doors facing east as I preached in a little church N of Jacksonville, Ill, called teh Ebenezer United Methodist Church. Later I became an administrator in retirement homes, corporations, nursing homes and a hospital. Only much later did I discover the joy of 2 wheels here in CO. I now have the disease. All ride well, and long, and take lots of photographs! JackZ
Scooter Bob Posted December 3, 2009 #819 Posted December 3, 2009 The current tartget is... You and your bike and one of those inflatable Christmas decorations. Could be Santa, the penguin, the Grinch on the chopper, doesn't matter, just any inflatable Christmas yard decoration.
dunvilsteev Posted December 5, 2009 #820 Posted December 5, 2009 Strictly a suggestion, for whoever gets this target, PERHAPS the next one could be you, your bike in a shed beside the lawnmower and um ... some patio furniture, the garden tools and the kids bikes. Just a suggestion ....
Scooter Bob Posted December 13, 2009 #821 Posted December 13, 2009 The roads around here are still all covered with white stuff :snow2:after the storm Wednesday. It's an easy target now, but it will a tough one to find come January. Merry Christmas to All, Scooter Bob The current tartget is... You and your bike and one of those inflatable Christmas decorations. Could be Santa, the penguin, the Grinch on the chopper, doesn't matter, just any inflatable Christmas yard decoration.
dynodon Posted December 16, 2009 #822 Posted December 16, 2009 (edited) Well, I gave you all a lot of time. Today was 28 degrees and sunny and I had to go get some tickets to the RAIN (Beatles tribute band) to take my grandson to the event, and decided to take the bike and try out my new heated gloves in really cold weather. Total ride was about 1.5 hours and 25 or 30 miles. Was pretty comfortable, but I was glad to get back in before dark. On the way back, I knew there were some inflatable Xmas scenes around town and I found this one, surely one of the biggest. After taking these two pictures, I discovered there was almost twice as much around the other side of the house, but I already had the camera put away and was ready to get into the warmth! So if accepted (I am in the mirror on my bike) the next target will be: You, Your bike, and a snow plow, parked, junked, not attached to the front of a truck, but it has to be a fairly big snow plow blade of some sort! For those in warm climates (and good for those in the cold too!), how about we add a city/county dump truck or some big truck with the city logo on it. Double points for a city dump truck with the logo AND a snow plow! Edited December 17, 2009 by dynodon
dynodon Posted December 16, 2009 #823 Posted December 16, 2009 I wanted to put this pic in with the snow inflatable stuff, but forgot, I am proud of my 8 year old grandson, and thought I would post these scans of his Hockey card. He loves the cold obviously! We are really proud of him, second season playing hockey in Peoria, IL and he had two hat tricks this year along with an invite to a traveling team (a big deal I understand). He looks so grown up in the pictures, but when the game is over and the pads come off, he and the others are just kids and they STILL run around and play hockey. I wish I had that much energy, never DID have that much energy!
KarlS Posted December 17, 2009 #824 Posted December 17, 2009 Good pictures of Christmas Decorations and of Hockey Playing Grandson. Good next target, I know I'm not gonna get it. At 2F degrees I don't want to go anywhere in the cage!! :cold::cold:
Scooter Bob Posted December 17, 2009 #825 Posted December 17, 2009 Good pics Don, that's all I was looking for.:clap2: Might as well just stick with the snow plow part of the target, can't seem to get any of the southern folks to play anyways. :snow2:Still have 3 blocks of snowy and icy roads to get to something safely rideable around here. But, I'll play again when they clear off in a week or two. Later, Scooter Bob The current target by Dynodon is....
