Gray Ghost Posted April 24, 2008 Share #276 Posted April 24, 2008 I will see your tank and raise you a battleship... Wasn't taken during the contest so this one would not have counted anyway, but if you look real close you can see my bike 6720 miles behind this tank. RedRider Posted April 25, 2008 Share #282 Posted April 25, 2008 There is also a big fish in Hayward, WI (Fishing Hall of Fame) and, I believe, in Brainerd, MN. There's a statue of a Boll Weevil in Enterprise, AL, but that only counts as bait. RR
KiteSquid Posted April 25, 2008 Share #283 Posted April 25, 2008 IIRC Brainard does not have a roadside attraction and none are listed at Brainard's web site HERE IIRC there is a Giant Pike in Baudette MN, Garrison MN and Garrison North Dakota here is a photo of the one in Baudette and it is named Willie the Waleye http://ci.baudette.mn.us/vertical/Sites/%7B21C036DF-0831-4AF5-964F-F27EC85ABE06%7D/uploads/%7BB023E728-087C-483C-8EAD-7EDD6AE59260%7D.JPG I found this photo on the interent. The Giant Prarie Chickne is in Rothsay MN, just up the road from Brainard http://www.wlra.us/wl/wlprchkn.jpg I also found this photo on the interent. RedRider Posted April 26, 2008 Share #284 Posted April 26, 2008 Yup, Garrison was the one I was thinking of. Used to pass it going to a resort just nort' of Mille Lacs Lake. Brainerd was the town we woudl go into for 'getting in trouble' and I didn't bother to look at a map. Once I pulled the map up and followed the route we took, Garrison was the right place. Thanks for the correction. RR

pegscraper Posted April 26, 2008 Share #289 Posted April 26, 2008 One windmill coming up. This one was a cinch for me. I rode all the way across the street to my neighbor's place. Oh wait, I see two windmills. The first doesn't have blades on it though. The second one does, although I don't think they use that one either. Shooting almost straight into the sun here. I lightened this up quite a bit. When I told them what I was doing, they laughed and said I should make the next target a buffalo. They raise them over there. I've seen some other exotics there too. At one time they had a bear. I'll make it a little easier than that though. Next target is you, your bike, and an old, rusty farm implement. The kind you see shoved into a corner of a woods or a field. Must be one that would have been pulled behind a tractor or horses.
Ferrantelli Posted April 27, 2008 Share #290 Posted April 27, 2008 Those do not look like Wind Mills or Water Mills to me. There are more like Weather Vanes that measure wind directions or Anemometer that measure wind speed. Look at these photo for example.
pegscraper Posted April 27, 2008 Share #291 Posted April 27, 2008 Those are windmills, once used to drive a pump for a well. I know the one in the back is still hooked up, but I don't think they use it. It's hard to tell the scale in the pic, but it is quite tall. Sorry pal, they are not weather vanes. RedRider Posted April 27, 2008 Share #292 Posted April 27, 2008 Wind mills for water pumps were used quite extensively in flyover country. Good find Pegscraper. BTW, I still need to post pics of the HD taillight assy I bought from you. It looks great. RR

IH Truck Guy Posted May 5, 2008 Share #297 Posted May 5, 2008 Yes Dodge has brought back the Challenger nameplate. It has a 6.1 litre hemi and an autostick 5 speed. JB Well this Challenger is proving to be a tough one.Only found one dealer that has one and it's on the showroom floor. It's going to be real tough to get the bike in there. It's in the back of the showroom and I can't even get a good shot thru the window. AKRefugee Posted May 5, 2008 Share #298 Posted May 5, 2008 The word I got from my friend that owns a local Dodge dealership is that most dealers won't even get one until the end of the month. Dodge usually send them out all at once and he was told that they just started actual production on the 27th of April so they are just starting to roll out now. most shipping won't start till mid May. Anyone near the plant that is producing these???
