Ferrantelli Posted June 23, 2008 #351 Posted June 23, 2008 If you do not have mountains near by I recommend you go find some. They make for great riding. OK lets move on. In the interest of keeping this going, to celebrate Ferrari's 1-2 win at MAGNY-COURS French Grand Prix, YOU, YOUR BIKE, & (a real life size running) FERRARI.
RedRider Posted June 23, 2008 #352 Posted June 23, 2008 NOOOOOOO, don't change. I will be at the summit of Mt. Washington in 1 week and the summit of Cadillac Mtn the next day. Was looking to rock on this one. (There aren't too many mountains in WI). RR
dynodon Posted June 25, 2008 #353 Posted June 25, 2008 Wow, my close friend owns a real Ferrari, but it is raining the next three days! Bummer.
KingSizer Posted June 25, 2008 #354 Posted June 25, 2008 I know a guy named Rick Ferrari. He happens to sell cars at a local dealership. I don't suppose a picture with him would be enough, huh? He is life size and running though. I really want to win one of these...

Ferrantelli Posted June 26, 2008 #356 Posted June 26, 2008 NOOOOOOO, don't change. I will be at the summit of Mt. Washington in 1 week and the summit of Cadillac Mtn the next day. Was looking to rock on this one. (There aren't too many mountains in WI). RR Get it before the Ferrari and I will accepted as a winner. BTW Redrider have you ever being to the Summit of MT Washington?
RedRider Posted June 26, 2008 #357 Posted June 26, 2008 Not yet. We are hoping the weather cooperates for us next week. It is looking kind of iffy. Watched some videos of MiniCoopers running up and down Mt. Washington and it looks ...umm... a little interesting. RR
kantornado Posted June 27, 2008 #358 Posted June 27, 2008 Well here it is folks. My beautiful self,a beautiful red Ferrari and my beautiful Midnight Venture. While I was there I got a pic of a Lamborghini and a Bentley. For the next challenge a picture of You, Your bike in front of a Ice cream parlor. Not a DQ but a real ice cream parlor. I have been to a few around the country.:rotf:............Ron

Watched some videos of MiniCoopers running up and down Mt. Washington and it looks ...umm... a little interesting. RR Sorry RedRider the Ferrari made it in before you. But do go to Mt. Washington you will not be disappointed. Be at you best behavior it is a lot more challenging than most think. It surprised the heck out of me. The road starts out very innocent a small two lane at times a bit steep. But once you climb pass the tree line things get really interesting. Steep switch backs with no guard rails and a long way down while the temperature is getting lower and the winds are blowing. here are some of my pictures.
Animal Posted June 29, 2008 #360 Posted June 29, 2008 Well here it is folks. My beautiful self,a beautiful red Ferrari and my beautiful Midnight Venture. I have been to a few around the country.:rotf:............Ron Me, my Bike, and an Ice Cream Parlor. Oh, sorry, 3 ice cream parlors! Well 1 Icecream Parlor, 1 softserve stand (not a DQ), and 1 frozen custard parlor! What say you kantornado- does this do it?
kantornado Posted June 29, 2008 #361 Posted June 29, 2008 Great Job looks good to me. What say you on our next challenge.................Ron
Animal Posted June 30, 2008 #362 Posted June 30, 2008 Okay here it is. You your bike and a costume animated character (ie. the Gecko, Mickey Mouse, Smokey Bear, McGruff well you get the idea) Good luck and have fun.
Animal Posted July 6, 2008 #363 Posted July 6, 2008 Come on folks it's fourth of July weekend and no one can find some one dressed up like Uncle Sam You're not trying hard enough:draming::draming: Get out there and get to it!!!!
dynodon Posted July 10, 2008 #364 Posted July 10, 2008 The problem is costume characters are rarely in the parking lot. Maybe time to reset the goal to something easier. The scavenger hunt will go away if people lose interest because the goal is too hard or too obscure. Don
RedRider Posted July 10, 2008 #365 Posted July 10, 2008 As promised previously, we made it to the top of Mt. Washington. I know it is a little late, but here are the pics anyway. You can't get the bike to the post marker since it is on a pile of rocks, but one pic is our group at the marker, the other is me in the parking lot at the top. It was a great trip. RR
Animal Posted July 12, 2008 #366 Posted July 12, 2008 I saw a chik-fil-lay cow on the way home today :fiddle: Keep looking they're out there
Dragonslayer Posted July 12, 2008 #367 Posted July 12, 2008 Last week going through Maryland I saw a costume roadside waving customers into the parking lot character, By the time I circled the block to get a pic he was gone. I think the problem is that it's so hot inside those costume get ups that they don't stay in the sun very long. If I every get to pick the target again I'm gonna pick You, Your Bike and the Oscar Mayer Wiener Whistle Vehicle.:rotfl:I saw it in Maryland last week as well.
MikeM8560 Posted July 12, 2008 #368 Posted July 12, 2008 I'm gonna pick You, Your Bike and the Oscar Mayer Wiener Whistle Vehicle.:rotfl:I saw it in Maryland last week as well. I used to see it all the time as a kid in California back in the 60's
Animal Posted July 28, 2008 #369 Posted July 28, 2008 Okay Target change:bang head: A costumed person other than you or your family or a live monkey or a larger than life monkey (amusement ride, statue, advertisement).
halfwitt Posted July 31, 2008 #370 Posted July 31, 2008 Too bad this thing is dying. I was having fun with it. I keep my camera in my trunk and look for some sort of mascot wherever I go. I'll keep looking!
IH Truck Guy Posted July 31, 2008 #371 Posted July 31, 2008 Too bad this thing is dying. I was having fun with it. I keep my camera in my trunk and look for some sort of mascot wherever I go. I'll keep looking! WE won't give up. Somebody will get the target,Just give it some time.. I had the camera ready to take a picture of a mascot at a club, holding up a pole, but some BIG guy took the camera away..
halfwitt Posted July 31, 2008 #372 Posted July 31, 2008 Oh, I'm not giving up. I used to see some poor soul out on the sidewalk in a chicken suit periodically advertising for a fast food joint. Of course, he's not around when I need him. I have some ideas on the next target if I can find something on this one.
KiteSquid Posted July 31, 2008 #373 Posted July 31, 2008 Who lives in Denver??? IIRC there is a hard hatted Gorilla outside of a rental place on Havana Ave. I live so far out in the sticks......................
dynodon Posted August 12, 2008 #374 Posted August 12, 2008 A local car dealer has a costume character of a candy bar (Sweet Deals on cars!) LOL I don't get by there very often, but if I could figure out when they record their big commercial for SAT AM air, I could drop by and irritate them. I say set a new target, make it easier and get this thing moving again. It was fun to watch and try to plan a picture.
KiteSquid Posted August 13, 2008 #375 Posted August 13, 2008 Not to diminish their service, but would a uniformed person or liveried qualify as a costumed person? I.e.: Police, postal worker, UPS driver, Army, Cost Guard, Air Force, Navy, Marine, National Guard, Doctor, Nurse, Auto Mechanic, Pit Crewman, Race Car Driver, Fast Food Worker, Hooters Girl, etc....... I ask as I see some of these fine people every day.
